The hotel is located in striking building which is a conveniently near to the old city, but it’s rather pricy and falls short on a number of counts. My wife and I stayed there for five nights.
The rooms are clean and well furnished, but nothing special and rather on the small side. Expect to have to climb into the bath to have a shower and make sure you don’t get a room overlooking the street on which the hotel is situated – it’s noisy and you’ll be staring across the road at a blank wall. Also, there’s no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms, or even bottles of water, which we thought was pretty poor given what we were paying.
The public areas on the ground floor are well appointed and pleasant, but don’t imagine that you’ll be able to bask on the roof terrace. It’s fitted out as a very expensive restaurant which is open in the evenings until 1am! If you’re in a room on the 4th floor you may well become aware of this.
Perhaps the best thing about the hotel is the breakfast, which is very good.
The hotel was pricy. The first night was 142 euros, the second, third and fourth were 227 euros (getting a bit expensive) and the final night was 382 euros – which seemed exorbitant. We were told that the price had increased because of “the festival”, but we were left feeling that it was rather more a case of profiteering.
Would we go there again? No. Having spent five days looking around Seville (which is a fabulous place) I’m sure we could do better – and pay quite a lot less!
