The pictures I am attaching speak for themselves. I asked the reception for help with this issue, they send someone up that said everything is fine!! They refused to change our room. We had to put up with this for six days...
The positive thing about this hotel was that the staff (Not the people in reception though, they were NOT service minded, specially an old man with big stomach) but the people that made our room or at the breakfast buffet were friendly.

Hotel was ok but far from excellent. Near enough from all the Seville attractions. We booked it dead cheap and if I get the same price I will def book it again, just for the price. It is a good hotel for couples and not suitable for families.

My husband and I stayed here for a long weekend in Seville in October. We wanted to stay somewhere modern and were prepared to stay a little outside the city centre which is what we got with the Melia. The hotel is huge and pretty modern, our room was spacious with good air conditioning which I imagine is really important im the summer! We had prepaid the room (or so we thought!), in any case we had a chosen a prepay room and assumed we had been charged for it before we arrived. When we checked in however the recprtionist charged us for the room then and there and explained that in actual fact the prepay room is not prepay?! Was a little strange but didn't matter. All in all we were happy with the room...except for one thing. We arrived late on Thursday night (c. 11pm) and I noticed straight away in the bathroom that there were hairs everywhere...on the toilet, in the sink, in the shower etc. There was also lipstick on one of the glasses! It was a bit gross to be honest but we were really tired so ignored it and went to bed. In the morning I called house keeping and they apologised profusely and said they'd ensure the room was cleaned properly after that, which it was. Bit shoddy though. The hotel is 15-20 mins walk from Barrio Santa Cruz and a taxi costs €5 or less so very handy for getting around. There is a tram stop c. 7 mins walk away but it only goes 3-4 stops to the centre of town. We got it once but felt it was actually more practical to walk or get a taxi. Restaurants and bars were amazing in Seville! I don't have too much more to say about the hotel, I'd possibly stay there again if I was in Seville again. I always feel mean giving a hotel 3 stars on here as it's "average" when really I'd class it as "good". It would have scored one star higher if it hadn't have been for the hair incident...!

Very reasonable hotel just outside the old city centre - Plaza Espana just across the road with the Cathedral and Alcazar about 15/20 mins on foot. You can catch the tram to the main sights/attractions if you don't want to walk, nearest tram stop is about 5 mins walk from the hotel and a very reasonable €1.80 (from memory) per journey. Tram service runs until about 1.45am on Fri/Sat nights. Rooms at the hotel are very spacious although the layout of the bathroom is a little odd! Reception are very helpful and the customer service is great. Nice little bar in the hotel as well. Seville is a stunning city with so much to see and do and as you would expect, more tapas bars than you can shake a stick at so you definitely won't go hungry. Also, some of the best places are off the beaten track a little so be brave, close the guide book for a couple of hours and explore! Bear in mind restaurants and tapas bars won't get busy until at least 10pm onwards as well. I would advise learning some very basic Spanish before you go as English is not as widely spoken as in other cities, however lots of tapas bars will have an English menu available. A little bit of effort goes a long way though!
I would recommend the Melia Sevilla as personally I would have found hotels in the main part too noisy (Seville is a late night city!). So if you want somewhere within walking distance but quiet enough to get a good nights sleep then this place is ideal. The only negative is the exterior of the hotel would benefit from some TLC to bring it up to the same standard as the interior.

Room Tip: You may get allocated a smoking room so check this before you travel

Spent a night in the hotel during our weekend trip to Sevilla.
++We liked the location , only a 2 Minutes walk to Plaza España. The Cathedral is within 15 Minutes walking distance.
+ Parking facilites around the hotel are good - hotel parking is available on request
++Lobby area is very extensive
++Very friendly service on the reception counter (city map, info about local attractions etc. were given without requesting).
- Amouint of elevators installed cannot cope -we took the stairs to the lobby after waiting for 10 Minutes for a free elevator.
-Checkout process not effective - Queue of people in front of the counter was unacceptable high (even considering it was a sunday morning and hotel occupation was high)
++Rooms underwent renovation and are nice, bright and clean. Sleeping quality is good, the room facilities worked well.
All in all a good hotel, will revisit in future.

We spent three nights at the Melia Sevilla and thought it was a great value. While it's a large hotel and not in the immediate area of Santa Cruz, it's only a 15-minute walk, and the property is immaculate and has friendly, helpful staff. We were in a renovated room on the top floor (great views), and everything was first rate including a beautiful bathroom with walk-in shower. I do agree with another reviewer's comment that the lights are very hard to figure out initially, but everything works and you even have enough light to read at night (which we didn't in other hotels).

The breakfast buffet is also great - full range of choices, good coffee, friendly waiters. We liked it a lot.

Room Tip: I assume the higher rooms are a bit quieter than lower since the hotel is on a busy street. We coul...

Yes, this is another hotel belong to a big chain but we were surprised with the level of service delivered by the staffs which has created a lasting impact during our stay. Staffs are friendly and ready to assist you with all your needs, especially those behind the reception desk. No, they are not running their service based on a manual book definitely. Impressive lobby with lovely aromatherapy smell throughout, room is spacious and smartly design to provide you with spaces within such a confined area. Bed is very comfortable. Location is great, 15 minutes walk to the cathedral and Alcazar Palace or EUR 7 cab ride to the Parasol whilst Plaza Espana is just next to your doorstep. We decided to take the offer for the buffet breakfast which we found amazing, so many choices with a very good quality. Check for promotion on their website for absolute good value.
