“All round good choice - very comfortable and a quiet room”
Reviewed 8 October 2010

After staying in a tiny apartment in the Alfama area of Lisbon we felt the need to spoil ourselves - with luxuries such as room to move and a lift! We had never been to Seville before but had gained a good impression of Melia hotels from our stay in Valencia. Melia Sevilla looks a bit tired from the outside, but the interiors are smart, modern and stylish. It is in a nice position looking out on the Plaza de Espana, but is about a ten minute stroll from the main attractions of the town. The rooms are very well laid out, with clever touches, like being able to access the wardrobes from the bathroom, having the vanity separated from the WC and the bath/shower area etc. Also these functional areas cut out a lot of the noise you would otherwise get from other guests talking in the passageways. The bed was exceptionally comfortable. The window opened allowing fresh air which was nice.
The bar, reception, and restaurant areas are a bit stark - with minimalist uncomfortable white lounges. Also they don't seem to get a lot of patronage, with many hotel guests favouring more intimate bars and restaurants in the town. However, having eaten one meal in the restaurant our comment is that the food is OK and well presented but nothing special. Breakfast is served from 7 am till 11 am (nice for a slow start) on the first floor, and was one of the best buffets we experienced in our Spanish trip - with hot and cold food to satisfy any taste or nationality.
The staff were courteous, but not warm and friendly. Very little English was spoken, which seems to be the status quo in Spain but is surprising in an international hotel of this nature.
There is a reasonably well equipped fitness centre and the pool and terrace are lovely.
A negative is that wi-fi was not free - even in the public areas of the hotel. We paid four euro for one hour - but you can buy longer, cheaper access if needed.

I really could not fault anything with this hotel.
We arrived after a 5 hour flight delay at 1am. The receptionist was welcoming, polite and got us checked in as quickly as possible.
The foyer is like a modern art gallery- sculptures and lamps.
the rooms were spacious, fantastically clean and relaxing.
there is a good bar with a friendly barman which stays open till late.
If you are looking for an excellent place for an evening meal, try the San Marco restaurant next door to the hotel.
We only stayed there for the weekend but would have loved to have stayed longer.

Just arrived back from Seville and this hotel was excellent. The pool was very welcome after exploring the city in high 40s temperatures! Room was excellent and air con nice and quiet. Although in the city we had no problems getting to sleep here. Not as central as we would have liked but generally speaking a taxi is around 5 Euro to go anywhere in the city.

We've just come back from Seville and had a lovely time. The hotel isn't the most central, but is only a 10min walk. We booked a Grand Premuim Room and is was very peaceful with very large, comfortable beds and quiet air con.
It was very hot in Seville so the pool was a welcome bonus when we got back to the hotel in the evening, and there were plenty of sun loungers.
I couldn't fault the hotel and would stay there again

Me and my boyfriend stayed here Sept 09. It was easy to get to my Seville airport and within walking distance to the old town, cathedral, shops etc. The gardens, Jardins del Prado de San Sebastian is only a 5 min walk. The Plaza De Espana is only 2 min walk. You must go to the Plaza de Espana....it is such a pretty place.
The hotel and the rooms were really clean tidy and nicely decorated. Me and my boyfriend were very comfortable there and the showers are fantastic! The hotel staff were nice and very helpful.
There is a stunning restaurant right next door to the hotel. Food was excellent and service too. Very popular by the looks of it when we went.
The only thing about the hotel was that in the rooms, the beds were on wheels and tended to move when you move but the beds were massive! Apart from that I would definitely recommend the hotel to anyone. There is a pool area on the roof top which is really nice but you can hear the traffic from there but its a city so what to you expect.
Buses are also very regular and only a few minutes walk from the hotel and the train station is also very close by.
We went to the Isla Magica theme park....personally, I wouldnt bother. I felt the trip was a waste of money. If you do want to go then you should go in the night where it is cheaper.

To start, Sevilla is a nightmare to drive around, which makes this hotel a real find as it was really easy to get to. If you're driving, do not stay in the old town.

If you've hired a car stay here, as only 10-15 min walk into the centre and easy to find. Parking is however fairly costly. Lovely parks nearby as well to take a stroll, behind the Plaza de Espana.

Hotel itself was very comfortable, the best bed of the entire trip and that I've slept in for a very long time - wish I could have taken it with me! Staff were helpful and even played along to my attempts at speaking spanish even though they could speak excellent english

Pool area is also nice, looks nicer than on the photos

All you need is there - great room, great bed and pillows, great shower and tub. Some people complained about the lights - no problems for me - you just need to understand them. The breakfast was above excellent - has everything from good spanish ham to wine and Cava! The swimming pool is also great!
If you don't mind walking for 15 minutes to go to the old town this is your place - a taxi ride costs only 6 Euros anyway!
They shouldn't charge for the Internet!!
