We were staying here for one night ( im glad it was just one night ).. We didint feel really welcomed.. The reception guy was really really odd.. And the room.. Ooh, that was horrible.. The wall was full of mould and there was a cockroach.. And the shower was really bad.. But i have to admit that the location was good! We pay 35€ for one night so maybe that is what you get in that price..

The room was not good. The restroom was extremely small, but it's tolerable if you're only planning on staying for a couple of nights.

The staff was not friendly and were not helpful at all.

It is near the shopping street and there are lots of restaurants around.

I never usually place negative feedback on Trip Advisor. I either place positive feedback or none at all. I am a retired Hotelier and National Tourism Judge so know how damaging negative feedback can be, however this has to be done. I even waited till the last day to see if my opinion mellowed. Sevilla at Easter is chaotic with the Semana Santa Festival. So every accommodation property at least doubles their rate. This was no exception. We had to pay double what we had paid everywhere else in Spain. We accepted that when we booked but were very disappointed in the lack of quality and service. We are 59 years old and my wife is on crutches. When we arrived the receptionist was unfriendly and unwelcoming. No offer of help with our luggage. He said here is your key and your room is up there. I had to make 4 trips up the narrow staircase. The room was quaint with Andalucian tiles on the walls and floors. The room was hot, the temperature being 31 degrees outside. After trying for several minutes to get the A/C on I gave up and went downstairs to Mr Grumpy. He retrieved a control from his drawer and showed me how to turn it on. I explained I had done that but only hot air came out. Yes he rudely said because I have the central control set to heat until June. "You are the only one that wants cold - the rest of us are cold and need heat" . It remained like that for the 4 days (31, 29, 34 and 28 degrees respectively outside) THERE IS NO A/C IN THE ROOMS AS ADVERTISED. There was a ceiling fan that could be set by standing on the bed and pulling the chain cord whilst my wife flicked various switches on and off till it worked. The bearings in the fan are worn out so very noisy. The location is also noisy inside and out. The bathroom was small, with limited sachets of body wash but no soap. The toilet roll was an industrial type giant roll sitting on the sink rack. (The holder was broken). Sandpaper came to mind whilst using this. There was only enough hot water each day for 1 quick shower so my showers were cold. (Luckily the weather was hot). The shower rose was loose. There is no plug for the sink. The towels are worn and thin. It is only 1 Star but that does not excuse poor and rude service and poor facilities. We have stayed at other 1 star Hostals in Spain that were charming, friendly, well appointed, clean, delightful and less than half the price. It is all about attitude and service. If the other Hostals were 1 Star, this one is -4 Star. Sorry but this had to be said. Fix it up or shut it down!

Room Tip: Do not stay here.

The hostel is nothing special in terms of ambience or decoration but the room I got, on the second floor, was a great way to feel that you're in Andalusia, with it's lovely traditional feeling. And it has a private bathroom, which for the price of the room is a real luxury. The service was good (I speak Spanish, though, could be a little more difficult for people that don't) and it was quiet enough for a perfect rest. It's walking distance to many attractions and easy to reach from the bus or train station. Wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.

Room Tip: Rooms on the 2nd floor are quieter.
