“Great Hotel, difficult to get to”
Reviewed 11 January 2014 via mobile

Wonderful hotel. Clean, friendly, useful with an outstanding location. This means that, due to the little Sevilla streets, it is difficult to get to and no parking (we drove). Got in the general area and asked a different hotel for directions. Got there, dropped off bags, and took car to lot (20 a Euros per day!). We were able to come and go through the hotel as needed due to such a close location to everything we needed. So many options! We didn't do breakfast because we wanted to enjoy eating out.

The staff at Hotel Abanico was very friendly and the location was terrific. It was easy to get to the train station and a perfect location to get to all points in old town Sevilla. The advertised walking tour is not run by the hotel and does not start at the hotel. It is run by a group called Feel the City and is well worth it. It was a great overview of the city.

This is a beautiful small hotel, with great service. Price is very reasonable. Location is great, within walking distance to all the major historical sites. Breakfast is great but the same every morning, boiled eggs, ham, yogurt...etc. Free coffee, hot cocoa, tea, and orange wine all day until 10pm. The guy at the front desk (didn't catch his name) was extremely nice, and helpful.
It can get noisy as you can hear people walking in the hall way, but keep in mind that this is a 200-year told building.

Spent Christmas 2013 at the Abianco. Nice Spanish style, decent room and friendly staff. Good location, just five minutes from major sites. Although down a small back street, it had a bit of traffic past the front door, but as my room was at the back it was very peaceful. Clean, tidy, although lacked things like a small fridge, more than one plug socket, and although heating in the room was great, the bathroom could be cold at that time of year. Overall would certainly visit again due to the location and it was all nicely hassle free with traditional charm. .

Room Tip: Not sure whether those at the front were disturbed by traffic, but they might be!

Fantastic traditional Spanish style hotel with lovely central courtyard. Stayed for two nights and despite getting lost when first trying to find the hotel, we soon found the location ideal for us. Very spacious ground floor room (001) with comfortable twin beds (also extra single sofa bed with another single underneath, so could in theory sleep four comfortably) and a nice shower room. I was travelling with my elderly Father who is not so good with steps now and the hotel accommodated us perfectly. Casa Pilatos was just around the corner and was a wonderful place to visit and we had it virtually to ourselves and was like a smaller version of the Alcazar. Hotel is also about 5 minutes walk to the amazing Metropol Parasol (Las Setas) at Plaza de la Encarnacion. We had a fantastic time in Seville and this hotel was not just somewhere to sleep but the icing on the cake.

Room Tip: We stayed in 001 and were also shown 011 which was also on the ground floor but had a bath instead o...

Very clean, very original hotel! You cannot go wrong with this hotel. Ideal location, great service, great room! The room itself is big, compared to other Europe hotels...this has been one of the best hotels we have stayed in Europe.

easy to get a taxi to this hotel - while in old town you will have a 10 minute walk to the delights of Bario Santa Cruz. Staff speak good English, and are helpful with the maze of streets. Rooms are European - basic but very clean - make sure you ask for a double, to avoid the two single beds pushed together scenario. Toiletries supplied are sufficient. Breakfast is European - pastries and fresh rolls are welcome. Having to heat up sausages, beans and Spanish omelette in microwave is a little bazaar! Enjoy being Spanish - eat the salami (its really good), enjoy the cheeses and hams and pate - remember why you came to Sevilla. Try the condensed milk in coffee - it is really very good. Try the Orange wine (complimentary) and the hot chocolate out of the machine. This is Seville.

Room Tip: Big tip - single rooms are a lot less expensive than double rooms, and in our experience, a single r...
