Only stayed here one night and had to leave early the next morning for the airport - so we didn't have the breakfast.

Don't let the outside of the building put you off - when you enter the hotel you are a world away in a classic Sevillian patio house. The reception area has free wifi, coffee and water. Staff at the desk were very friendly and organised a taxi for us very early the next morning with no fuss. Our room was 007, towards the back of the building. Entering the room, it has a small lobby space with a desk and the door to the bathroom. The room was up four marble steps from here (so it would be a problem for those with mobility issues). Quite dark because it looked out on to the street and the shutters were closed, but it was large, with a high ceiling and two very comfortable single beds pushed together. It had a large, clean and very nice bathroom.

There was some street noise (we stayed on a Saturday night) but nothing too bad. Good value and highly recommended if you want a taste of Old Seville.

Room Tip: Some rooms are noisier than others. If you are a light sleeper, do ask for a quieter room when booki...

The hotel is ok, but certainly not excellent. The staff is not very friendly, but not unfriendly either (well, maybe except of the night auditor, which I never saw smiling. It is not dirty, but still doesn't feel very clean. The patio is lovely, the rooms are ok, but rather small, especially the bathroom. The doors are not very well isolated, so you hear what's going on on the corridor rather well. Location, however, is excellent.

We stayed in Hotel Abanico during Holy Week (Semana Santa) which was a really interesting experience as we had no idea what it was like before we came. The hotel is in a very narrow street and from the outside it does not look very appealing but once inside it is totally different. The reception area is in a covered courtyard with plenty of easy chairs to sit in. There are lots of pots of geraniums attached to the various balconies which was very colourful. The breakfast area is quite small but adequate and there is free tea, coffee and biscuits provided all day which is a very nice touch (along with an orange liquer). The bedrooms are all quite different . Ours was at the back of the hotel and was well furnished with a large bathroom. Our friends had a room at the front and their bathroom was very small. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Location is very good - very central to all the sites. Good fun wandering through the labyrinth of streets. On our first night we actually got lost getting back to the hotel due to the processions which were happening all week. That particular procession went right past our hotel and when we finally made it back through the crowds of people we were able to stand on our friends' balcony and have a bird's eye view which was amazing! Some of the processions went on all night so we were glad our room was at the back. If you like hotels with character which are a little bit different then I would definitely recommend staying here and don't be put off from the exterior appearance. After a busy day sightseeing it was lovely to escape from the crowds into the very peaceful oasis of the Abanico's courtyard. There are also lots of great little bars and restaurants nearby.

Room Tip: Rooms at the back would be quieter.

Friendly staff, exciting location to organise parking. The room was OK & breakfast good.... but yet another hotel that turns the aircon off at night... It was advertised and presumably I paid for it so why is it turned off.

I do not believe there is anything more I can add.. On the good side of OK.

We just got back from Sevilla and I really wanted to give a quick review to this lovely hotel and the nice staff.
The hotel is placed at the heart of old town and everything you would want to see is at a walking distance. As others mentioned the roads are narrow and it is a bit hard to navigate around the city at first. So I suggest downloading an app and using gps in case you get lost and do study the place of the hotel beforehand as it may be a bit hard and frustrating to find after a long flight.
Once you arrive you are greeted by the friendly and helpful staff and they provide you with a map.
The hotel is not your average cold faced hotel and it gives a great feel of the city. The rooms are clean, cozy and nice and I loved how clean and spacious our bathroom was.
The breakfast is also nice and you are offered a 6€ deal provided that you eat there during your stay. The coffee and tea and internet connection are free of charge during your stay.

All in all it is a great cozy hotel with an authentic feel and I definitely recommend it.

Hotel Abanico is a really nice property in the heart of Seville's old town.

Location - central, and that's a bit uncomfortable, 'cause it may be difficult for travellers, especially first-time visitors (like me :) to find the hotel and to find the way out for some sight-seeing :) Everything looks close on the map, but the old town is a real labyrinth - with so many tiny narrows streets, just wide enough for 1 car, so you have to jump upon the nearest steps each time you see one, because there's not enough space for both the car and you :( However, wandering around and getting lost may be considered an adventure :)

Rooms - quite big, old Sevillian style. Who wants another standard, faceless space anyway? I liked my room a lot!

Service - everyone was polite and helpful, no complaints here.

Breakfast - actually, cannnot tell, I didn't pay for one and always ate outside.

Resume: recommended for romantic Spanish stay, not recommended for labyrinth-haters :)

When we were first arrived at Seville , it was extremely difficult to navigate through the numerous little alleyways and streets however, some friendly waiter from a nearby cafe helped up get to the hotel. I would advise a really good map or directions from an information centre at the airport or you could spend a lot of wasted time wondering around looking for your destination.
The hotel Abanico was located in the alfalfa area of the city, surrounded by some very quaint little pubs ands restaurants. On entering the hotel it was like being transported back in time to when wealthy sillvanians lived in grand houses.
The hotel was spotlessly clean and the reception staff very helpful. Our room was quite a good size with well appointed bathroom facilities. Our booking was on a bed and breakfast basis and the breakfast was more than suitable for our needs with a variety of hot and cold dishes. The hotel offered coffee facilities throughout the day which was free for guests. The local orange liqueur was also made available for guests throughout the day and this was also free of charge.
The location of the hotel was very central to all the main sites that Seville has to offer, although give yourself plenty of time to familiarise yourself with the complicated street plan. This is an hotel I would definitely recommend for cleanliness and location and would certainly return to if I went back to Seville.
