I spent three nights here as part of a group trip / tour. It has an old world feel and seems to be trading on past glories. It would benefit from some upgrading but probably not likely to occur any time soon e.g. its quite a haul up the stairs to the third floor with no elevator. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location is excellent in the old city and adjacent to the central areas. Just remember to note your route carefully as it all too easy to get lost in the labyrinthe of narrow streets that surround it. The nearby Arab baths should be worth a visit be probably need to be booked in advance . I missed out but could recommend a coffee in the very relaxed coffee shop upstairs from the baths.

Room Tip: I think all rooms are probably a bit dated. Ask for one no higher than the second floor.

The hotel is situated less than 10 minutes walk from the cathedral and Alcazar down a quiet street in the old part of the city. The interior of the hotel is rather strange - very old-fashioned and quite shabby, but the rooms were spotlessly clean and quiet, and the shower was fantastic! There are 2 family dogs which were in the lobby most of the time - they were friendly but did seem to leave dirty paw prints on the guest chairs! Breakfast was basic. The staff were really friendly and helpful.

PROS: Wonderful inside roofed "patio" where you can hang out or have a bottle of wine, with comfortable sofas and armchairs. Location in the core of Santa Cruz neighbourhood can't be better to visit all places of interest. Personnel were more than helpful, they fixed our wifi problem and guided us to good "tapas" bars.

CONS: Room was very bare.

Room Tip: There is no elevator, so try to get a room in the first floor.

Have recently stayed at Hotel Sierpes for one week. All I can say that this is the best value for money hotel I have ever been in (and they are quite a few). The matress is firm, the linen and room clean, the shower hot and powerful. I have stayed in hostals for twice the price in Europe and the middle east and have had to throw the matress on the floor...
The building is beautiful, the staff are helpful, friendly and, well, it's just plain cool. 5 minutes walk to the Cathedral, 2 minutes walk from Alfalfa Square...it's just the best value for money hostel I have ever seen.

I stayed with my partner at Hostal Sierpes and found the stay agreeable. It wasn't anything to shout about, but the staff were friendly, the room clean (if not a bit drab), and the location was great.

I had looked around at a fair amount of hostals in Seville and they all seem very expensive for what they are... that said, i understand this is a tourist city so am not complaining about the prices.

You wouldn't want to stay here much longer than a few days, but it is quite sweet, and the decor more interesting than in most of the other hostals and pensiones.

Very close to the cathedral and Royal Alcázars so right in the historical centre. The other big advantage of this hotel is that they have garage for guest parking (chargeable but a very reasonable €13 for one night).

Welcoming, traditional seating area when you walk in. The receptionist was very efficient and spoke good English (something which I don't expect in Spain but it is helpful for a speedy check-in!). Our room was on the first floor, just off of the lovely courtyard seating area with atrium (see picture) where the free wifi worked without a problem (didn't work in the room though). The room was spacious with a double bed with clean sheets, wardrobe, small table and chairs. The bathroom, although a little dated, had everything you needed including soap and shower gel and an amazing hot, powerful shower. Modern air conditioning unit in room but we didn't need to use it.

There was quite a lot of noise from outside at night (e.g. rubbish collection) but this is not the fault of the hotel and you would get this in any city centre.

Breakfast was €3.50 and consisted of a large glass of orange juice, coffee and lightly toasted bread rolls with butter, cheese, ham and jam. Very nice and better than we have had in more up-market Spanish hotels.

I think some of the other reviews are a little harsh on this hotel. Yes, it could do with a bit of updating but it has lovely character, is clean and comfortable, very convenient and excellent value. If you want contemporary design, a trouser press and a TV in your room - book a soulless, modern and expensive four star hotel, but if you want somewhere comfortable and convenient at a good price, book this one.
