This is a simple hostel in downtown Seville. The hostel is quite difficult to find, since it is in the historic area and the streets are like a labyrinth. Once you arrive to the hotel, the people at the reception are kind and helpful. The place is spotless and very clean, but it is in need of renovations. The rooms are really basic, without TV, altough very clean. The location is perfect, but again, you will get lost more than once to arrive to the hotel.

I recently returned from a 5 night stay at the Sierpes. This is a relaxed, family run hotel and I found it to be very clean and friendly. I stayed in room 107 and I don't recommend this particular room as the quality of the mattress was truly appalling! Thank goodness all the walking around I did ,tired me out so that this did not persist to be a problem. Also as it is an inner room the only window opens out onto a public courtyard and on my 2nd night a very loud and inconsiderate family who had just arrived, woke me up at 2 o'clock in the morning. Of course this is not the fault of the hotel but something you should consider. The bedroom was sparse but clean, as was the hotel generally. The shower was a good size but the temperature of the hot tap was dangerously high. There was no bath mat or plug for the wash basin. The breakfast room is attractive and cool. Breakfast was a simple and adequate affair and at three euros a pop who dares complain ? The visibility of four generations of the family who run this establishment along with eclectic funishings and artefacts create a charming atmosphere. As most people in this site have noted, the main advantage of staying at the Sierpes is its great location. How true - you are just 5 mins from the bars and restaurants and 7 mins from the Cathedral. This is a great place to stay if you are on a budget and location and cleanliness are your next priorities. For the price I paid I would recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: Outer rooms have windows that open out onto the street.

As my husband reminded me it's all about location, location and money! It's well placed for exploring the centre of Seville, but I can't anything more positive than that. Do not accept room 304 as your accommodation as it's the pits, we moved down a floor and this wasn't much of an improvement. The poor guy who seems to run the place single-handedly is a cross between Basil Fawlty, Manuel and Rene of Alo, alo! Breakfast was basic, cheap and chaotic, but we had a laugh!

Room Tip: Do not stay in the attic rooms on the 3rd floor.

This hotel is really interesting as it looks like it was a former convent given the decor. The staff were helpful, our room clean, albeit lacking a TV, and bathroom a bit jaded. The location is superb for the Cathedral and many restaurants and bars, but difficult to find initially. We left our car at Seville airport and bussed into Seville; parking is a nightmare!

Room Tip: The room we had was on the 2nd Floor and what I call rustic charm!..I liked its view over the alleyw...

I went to Seville Pain in October 2013. Booked this hostel on Booking.Com expecting it to live up to the photographs they had. It is deceiving. The rooms were small and extremely basic. A bed, a table (not next to the bed) and a basic bathroom. It was run down and the windows did not close all the way. No wifi in rooms (wifi was very weak in the first floor) No TV. No glasses or soap. Did have towels. The price was high for what you got (79€). Next two days were spent in a Hilton that was cheaper than this hostel with free parking (parking at the hostel was 13€ and was in a building with cars parked so close you had difficulty getting out of the car). The caretaker had to park it after trying to do it myself. Driving and finding this place was awful. Even the police didn't know (contacted two different officers). Location is not everything. Comfort is important. Especially for tourists who are not familiar with Seville.

Room Tip: If driving, stay out of town. It is usually free. Take public transportation. It is good in Seville...

What a gem in the centre of a wonderful city. The rooms were lovely and clean with air conditioning and free wi-fi. The only problem is that there is a central atrium area where people congregate to log on to wi-fi so it can be noisy if they chat a lot. Breakfast was pretty basic but adequate. I would stay there again, no problem.

If you are looking for a great location, the Sierpes is the place for you - it is just 5 minutes walk from the Giralda and it is very hard to get lost, which is more than can be said for many parts of the old city ! The reception staff were pleasant. However, there are other factors that weren't in its favour - the entrance hall looks rather like a Moorish harem and although our room was clean, the air conditioning refused to work properly, despite the attention of the hotel staff. If you add to that a very basic breakfast, I can only rate it overall as an "average", thanks mainly to that great location.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view out into the street. There are a few which open out into the internal cou...
