“Great hotel - but note, it is not in the centre of Seville”
Reviewed 7 June 2014

As other reviewers have mentioned - this hotel is not in the centre of Seville as the name may imply.

We travelled by train from Malaga to Seville and it is a 15 minute walk straight down one of the main roads from Seville's train station. Down this road, there are several restaurants and cafes (we stopped at one cafe 'Miquels' - for brunch before getting the train back to Malaga, and it was incredibly cheap and food was fine).

The hotel is right next to the Jardin de la Buhaira which is pretty but it is not near the centre of Seville. However, it is just a 2 minute walk to the San Bernardo tram stop which costs 1,40 Euros one way into the centre of Seville. The ride is less than 10 minutes so not much of an inconvenience. If you want to go to the Plaza de Espana, Catedral or Alcazar, I would recommend getting off the stop before Plaza Nueva. There are plenty of cafes at this stop and it is a really pleasant walk into the windy streets of the centre of Seville. We had breakfast at Horno San Buenaventura - read lots of recommendations about this place. Service was slow and lacking, and the food was average but we only had breakfast there. The cakes looked delicious but too much for me to eat so early on in the day!

We were quite lucky with the Catedral - they had a service there in the morning so we went in to part of it for free, and although they roped off the part where Christopher Columbus is buried, we could still take pictures of it easily. As we went to visit the Catedral again after the Alcazar, the queue was never-ending and we had pretty much seen most of it for free and without a queue so were happy to head somewhere else.

We stayed in a standard room - I requested a pretty view and a double bed. We were given two singles pushed together which is no big deal. The view was of the Jardin de la Buhaira and surroundings which did give a lovely view. The room was very clean and the bathroom was a good size too. The towels were soft and plush.

We didn't eat at the hotel and we didn't try any of the other facilities but we saw did head up to the pool which was an average sized pool for a city hotel. The receptionists were helpful and we were not disappointed with our stay at Sevilla Center.

Room Tip: Ask for a room away from the lifts, higher up and with a pretty view! - we were on the 10th floor in...

One of the “Hotel Center” chain in Spain. Nice rooms and a very good included buffet breakfast. Lots of food choices but not as extensive as the other hotels on the trip. Also, the coffee dispensers were antiquated and lines were long at them depending on when you dined in the morning. The rooms weren’t overly large and it did take a while for the a/c in the room to get working – but when it did – a good night’s rest was guaranteed.

The Sevilla Center Hotel was a lovely hotel with spacious rooms. The bathrooms were nice and spacious also. On our tour a breakfast was provided and it was tasty to accommodate many nationalities that were staying at the hotel. My daughter and I loved Sevilla and we wish we could have stayed longer!

Nice clean rooms . Bedding needs to be upgraded though Staff were friendly and breakfast buffet was good. It seems all hotels are going to the one cup at a time coffee which is a pain don't they
know a traveler needs their coffee.

Travelled with Globus Coach Tour and The Sevilla Center Hotel was the chosen one in Seville. We instantly felt warm to the property due to its location and surrounding. There was also a convenient supermarket right in front of the hotel. The different sightseeing areas such as the Santa Cruz Quarter, Plaza de Espana & Parque Maria Luisa, or Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza were within walking distance from the hotel.

We came to discover by accident the quality of the restaurant at the top of the hotel. The local restaurant we intended to visit was closed. So we decided to try the one in the hotel. Being relatively early at 8:30 pm, we were the only couple. After settling at one of the best table for sunset, we ordered a bottle of wine, a starter and a main to share between us. Even the young and beautiful waitress could not speak any English but we did communicate without any problem. Surprise! We enjoyed a very beautiful sunset, good wine, and a very dining experience indeed. The only inconvenience was the closest toilet facility was at the mezzanine floor.

The Sevilla Center Hotel is definitely a preferred hotel if you ever return to Seville.

This hotel is located at a nice and quiet neighbourhood. There is a park next to it and there is a supermarket across the road. A few minutes walk will take one to the tram terminal. It takes about ten minutes by tram to go to the city centre. The hotel is of modern nice decor, a sense of elegance and upclass once you step inside the hotel. The room is spacious, and the sink & bathtub are divided from the toilet. The breakfast offers a lot of varied nice food. It should well deserve a rating of 5 if it does not fall short of a few things. At the room where we stayed, the curtains could be closed completely; at the bathtub, there is only shower and we didn't manage to switch it to tap; the glasses on top of the side tables were very rough at the edge ..... In spite of all these minor problems, the hotel is very nice and comfortable.

We stayed in this hotel with friends while visiting the city. The hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre. The service was excellent. We found that the hotel bar was very relaxing and reasonably priced to spend a while in when returning from the city or for pre drinks before dinner. The rooms were spacious and very comfortable. All and all great value for a quality hotel.
