“Wonderful Accomodations”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 30 May 2014

We loved our stay here. The location was great and the hotel nice, airy and clean. I do agree with the review that reception needs to be open more often. When we arrived we had to call Javier, and I wonder what that international call cost me? Also, I am just now seeing (from the on-line photos) the roof terrace I think we all would have enjoyed using it, but we were not told about it :( All in all I would highly recommend the hotel and would stay there again myself.

We were so pleased we had chosen to stay at Suites Sevilla Plaza and would definitely recommend it and we hope to return there soon. The room was quiet, light, bright, clean and large. It was in a great location for all the sights. The kitchen was well equipped, although we didn't use it as there are so many nice restaurants. The beds are comfortable and the furnishings are tasteful. Javier was very helpful indeed in suggesting places to eat and things to do. We followed all his recommendations and they were fantastic. Thank you for a wonderful stay! Niki

I chose to stay here based on TripAdvisor reviews and I think we were probably just unlucky with our experience, but some things do need changing. First of all the website does not make it clear that reception is closed most of the time so if you prefer to have someone on site then this isn't the place to stay. Javier will give you his mobile number but that's not ideal. We checked in at 2.15pm and had a chat with Javier who gave us some maps and talked a bit about Seville then a girl showed us to our suite. We wanted to just dump our bags and get out and about so ten minutes later we attempted to do that but the door to the apartment wouldn't lock. I went down to reception but it was all closed up with no sign of Javier or the girl. Long story short - I phoned Javier, got voicemail, he phoned back and arranged for the cleaner to wait for the guy who would come and fix the lock (which apparently had been broken before but he thought it was fixed. Would have been a good idea to make sure before the next guests arrived!) Anyway by the time we got back it was sorted.
The next day it occurred to me that the girl who'd shown us to our room hadn't actually given us any information at all about the accommodation so because there was no one on reception again I used the website to find out what was available and then went searching for the laundry and roof terrace. Neither was difficult to find but not great service. We also noticed there were bikes in the courtyard but I have no idea what the procedure was for using them.
One morning the fire alarm went off so we quickly got up, got dressed and evacuated the building. Apart from one other couple we we were the only guests to do so, despite there being a strong smell of smoke. Everyone else seemed be standing around wondering what to do. We sat outside for over half an hour with the alarm still blaring but nothing else happening before deciding to go for a coffee. As we walked round the corner Javier was on his way in. I assume the cause of the burning was a minor one but what if it had been a serious fire? Another pitfall of having an unmanned reception desk.
Something else I find odd is that for the room we booked (1 bed suite) the price on the website states 'From 90 euros to 150 euros. Prices from low to high season' but we were charged 180 euros per night. We did stay in high season but the website indicates that the highest price we should have paid was 150 euros. I queried this with Javier and his response was;
"That price is right. Easter week is the most expensive price in Seville and the prices are more expensive than the highest seasons. I have just checked and the price is right. There are some guest who paid more for book at the last moment."
That makes no sense to me, surely high season is the highest season? Very misleading. I'd accepted the price I was charged when I booked so I wasn't expecting a refund just a reasonable explanation. In a later email Javier said he would check the website and see if it needed changing - but it's still the same today.
On a positive note, I think they've done a great job with the building. The rooms are very nice and the furnishing are good quality. I agree with comments about lack of toilet roll but I thought the kitchenette was well equipped, despite a lack of work space.
Javier tells me that they've only been open a year so I think in general they've done very well....but there are definitely some improvements to be made.

We loved everything about this hotel apartment. The location is steps from the Nueva Plaza, a few minutes from the Cathedral and Alcazar, a grocery store a half block away, minutes from cafés, etc. yes, parking is 18,50 € per day! but the garage is across the street and secure. It costs that at public parking garages and this gives you reserved space. It is a bit tricky finding as it is on a on way narrow old city street. It is 10 yards into a do not enter so ignore hat and pull up n front to unload. Look for the awning saying CERRILLO across the street.

Javier is great at reception. He carried our bags to our room while we were out as we could not check in yet when we arrived. He offered to move our car to the parking garage. He put our wet laundry in the dryer so we could go out at night without waiting. He gave lots of suggestions and treated us like royalty!

We had a one bedroom with living room and kitchenette with 2 bathrooms. Everything is clean, bright, functioning, very modern. Best bed we slept in..queen with plenty of pillows. Kitchenette is functional for making breakfasts and light meals. The price us very competitive with just standard bedroom hotels so very good value considering location and amenities

There is a washer and dryer and detergent available free of charge..but ask how to use them as everything on the machines is in Spanish and it's not anything like American controls.

We were in a 2 bedroom/1 bath apartment at Suites Sevilla. The apartment is well located close to the lovely Plaza Nueva and a convenient walk to major shopping streets and attractions.

The bedrooms are large and well lit. However, there are no closets and a coat rack with hangers is the only hanging space provided. The living room has a pull out sofa which is convenient when travelling with children. Kitchenette is very basic and small without any counter space - can be used only for very simple cooking. There is no dishwasher in the apartment. There is a common laundry facility on the zero floor of the building. Detergent is provided which is convenient.

For basic groceries, there is a small store a few minutes away on calle zaragoza if you turn left after leaving the apartment. While you don't need a car in Sevilla, we rented a car for day trips to small towns in the area (returning to Sevilla for the night). Suites Sevilla has parking which has to be requested ahead of time. However, it is quite expensive (18 euros a night). There is another parking garage across from Plaza Nueva but also charges the same amount.

Javier, the person in the front office is extremely helpful. While he's in the office for a limited period during the day, he's always willing to help. We needed a reference to a doctor during our visit. Javier called the hospital and helped connect us with a doctor.

Excellent location, yet not enough. No parking and the hotel parking is pricy 18 euros per night . There is a free parking lot on Camino de Los Descubrimientos. The kitchenette is poorly equipped and the utensils are downright dirty, sticky and greasy, not a pleasure to use. The stove is small electric, no alarm light kids might get it wrong. The cleaning ladies show up when insisting and there is no garbage bin in sight. The whole experience felt like a rip off considering the steep price. The people at the reception are nice and quite forthcoming. The refrigerator barely functioned, check it on arrival,it is over frost.

The apartments are situated literally a 5 minute walk from the cathedral and Alcazer, with plenty of shops, bars and tapas restaurants very close by.

The apartment was clean, tidy and great value for money, and the underground car parking across the road was ideal.

The staff were very helpful and always available to answer questions.

I would stay again!
