“A different take on Andalucuian Culture”

Andalusian Center for Contemporary Art

If you are happy with eclectic styles and garnering knowledge then the centre for Andalucian Contemporary Art is yours to enjoy. Do not attempt it if you are not of an open mind, personally I found it fascinating and thought provoking, from the German rail station kiosk in the orange groves complete with announcements, to the huge face and hand peeping out from the entrance building. You cannot possibly review this in entirety as each piece could have a comment of its own, to be in such an historic monument dating back through ages with such contemporary cultural pieces on show is a monument in itself to the collaborators and curators of this fascinating museum. A visit to be considered by anyone with an interest in history, beauty and tranquility.

Really nice place to visit and to chill. Nature inside the city. Beautiful lanscape in there. There are also nice expositions inside they usually change along the time.

Yes it's quite far from center: you have to take a bus and travel on for 20 min approximately. It's not the museum which is best for this place, but the ancient monastery (see the pictures) with a big olive trees park around it and remnants of of porcelain factory chimneys. The territory is really big and you have to pay only if you are going to visit the exhibition itself which is interesting too sometimes.

Wei Wei
Exhibition of the world famous Chinese artist Ai Wei Wei. The same artist who designed the Bird's Nest, the Olympic Stadium in Beijing.
A great work had been done to make and hand paint 100 million sunflower seeds.
This syselsatte 1600 person in two and a half years to complete.
Besides Wei Wei had a number of other artists exhibitions simultaneously.
The best-spent Euros 1.80 in my life! ?

had a great few hours virtually alone looking round the modern art exibits in an old monestary. A bit off the beaten tracks on the other side of the river but worth the effort as it is quiet and peaceful and great way to display the art.
