If you like to stay off the beaten track, this is a perfect boutiques hotel in Seville. It is a beautiful, wonderfully restored centuries old building, with rooms brought to the modern comfort. Our room was just above the tapas restaurant, overlooking the street. It was great to see all of the activities in the neighborhood (including late night public movie showing in the park under our window), but it also meant noise. It wasn't too loud, just something to be aware and accepting (if you are that sensitive, choose one of the large hotels part of a chain where you can complain about anything). It is also in a gentrified neighborhood with lots of small independent boutiques, giving it special flavor. It is far enough from major tourist sights that you can actually experience the lives of ordinary Seville-ans, but also within 5 minutes enjoyable stroll to the main shopping streets that take you to the main tourist sights in 10-15 minutes walking.
Service in hotel was great, although it is memorable more for the atmosphere and location and neighborhood than for the service. Definitely great place to stay that is not a tourist-trap in tourist-overwhelmed Andalusia.

Room Tip: be aware that street view also means noise - just accept it

March in Seville is like April in Paris is supposed to be, and the Sacrista is an elegant haven in one of the busier and trendy areas of the City. It's a half-mile to the warren of old streets that is "downtown", but at the end is the Cathedral and amazing Alcazar. Bet you'll try to squeeze it in again next year.

We were a little pensive having read the other reviews but need not have worried - what a little gem. After the heat of the day it was bliss to return to this lovely air conditioned small hotel. Whilst we agree that the area can be noisy in the evening the added convenience of numerous bars and restaurants on the doorstep more than made up for this! However perhaps being in a room at the back helped? The bed was very comfortable and the little luxury bathroom items were a treat. The whole place was spotless and the staff helpful - a particular mention should be give to Maria on Reception who always brightened our day with her cheerful smile and helpfulness. The place had character and charm and wins hands down over the larger soulness places we have stayed in over the years. One small gripe perhaps would be that some fresh fruit added to the bereakfast menu would make it perfect!

Pros: very comfortable hotel, well priced, great location in a square surrounded by places to eat in the nice part of the city, walking distance to all sites, well serviced by buses and taxis.

Cons: We had 2 adjoining single beds rather than a double/ queen (this seems to be common in Spain as it also happened at a 4 star hotel), one of the receptionists was helpful but one was atrocious.

Lobby and rooms in this hotel are well decorated.

Do not have breakfast there; the breakfast room is uninspired and the food and drinks are not fresh. In the neigbourhood better breakfast is served for better prices.

Do not take a room facing the Alameda de Hercules, where it's crowded with terraces and bars. One night, it was quiet, but the other night, a cleaning machine (!) was howling away next to our window for hours, turning for about 20 times. Good for the cleanliness, but not for a good night's rest.

Preferably travel without a car, but if you do bring one, come well prepared. The hotel offers you to park the car in a garage, but that's a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Not too bad, but 1. parking (and offloading) in front of the hotel is very difficult due to the layout of the Hercules-square; 2. wrong directions are given, and it's complicated to find due to all oneway streets; 3. it still costs more than 20 euros a day, so no real advantage there.

If you can, book this hotel shortly in advance, as then it offers a 50% discount, which makes the price/quality-rate a lot better.

Room Tip: Explicitly ask for a room NOT facing the Alameda de Hercules-square

We enjoyed our 2-night stay here - the hotel was pretty and clean, and the front desk was friendly and helpful. The neighborhood was busy, in a good way. For example, we didn't get the buffet breakfast because their were several restaurants right nearby where you could get a nice breakfast for about 5 euro. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk to the Cathedral/Alcazar area, so that was no problem at all. And there are a lot of taxis in Seville so that was a good option for getting back at night when we were tired (I think about 10-12 euro).

We had an interior room, but were not disappointed by having no view. In fact we were happy to have a very dark and quiet room, and slept very well. If I am ever lucky enough to be in Seville again, I would definitely stay here!

A lovely hotel in an area full of bars / restaurants, but once inside tranquility takes over. Look out for the special offers on the hotel website .. we got a free bottle of cava and breakfast for our 2 night stay! A little difficult to find, but come down Alameda de Hercules from the north and it is at the far end .. just before the columns! Deserves more that its 3 stars.
