Truly an exceptional boutique hotel, with a friendly and supportive staff. We arrived in Seville at the busiest time of the year (Holy Week) when the streets are filled with religious processions, when it would be easy to get lost in the bustle. The staff went out of their way at this exceptional time to make sure we were safe, happy and comfortable. The style and atmosphere of the hotel perfectly fits Seville.

Superbly situated Corral del Rey is close to Plaza Alfalafa, a short stroll from the Cathedral area and is in the heart of Barrio Alfalafa. 3 of us stayed in a deluxe room equipped with a double bed and a pull out sofa bed, the room is L shaped and affords a good degree of privacy if thats required. The room is beautifully appointed and the bathroom gorgeous with a huge walk in shower equipped with two rain showers and a floor to ceiling glass wall facing an open (but private) courtyard. There is a tv if you want it and a sound system linked to an ipod sound dock but no blue tooth link if you dont do Apple The rooms are located in two buildings across the narrow street from each other which gave our stay a relaxed ambience. There is a roof top sun terrace with a plunge pool which is a nice place to rest between lunch and evening tapas. The web site says it has a restaurant and bar which is technically correct. The restaurant facilitates breakfast and you could order drinks from the bar. However this is Seville, countless excellent tapas bars are within easy walking distance, part of the fun is finding them. If you prefer a hotel with every conceivable amenity to hand then Corral del Rey probably isn't for you. However if you want to enjoy the best of Seville and then stay in a beautiful room in a great location then this is the one. We enjoyed the hotel, loved Seville and would return in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: Check the hotel web site to take advantage of promotions and offers.

Excellent accommodation in the heart of everything. Beautifully decorated. Outstanding staff. Nicest place in which I have stayed in a long time. Only slight issue is that the bed linen and towels were washed in a highly chlorinated water and gave off a whiff of chlorine/chemical smell. Easily rectified.

We just loved it! Being in the heart of the old quarter, Santa Cruz, was a delight. The whole building oozed charm and gracious stylishness, with our suite being a real joy. Breakfast was very good, and most attractively served. Drinks on the splendid roof terraces tasted all the better for the ambience. But what really made the whole stay unforgettable was the warm, unfailing helpfulness of Gabriella, Patricia and Dai. Always ready with excellent advice (their tapas tips were spot on), they gave the impression that absolutely nothing was too much trouble - whatever time of day or night: the late-night manchego, Iberian ham and tomato salad were just perfect after an exhilarating if exhausting evening of watching the Semana Santa processions! We unhesitatingly recommend Corral del Rey: go for a Junior Suite!

Corral Del Rey is not an easy hotel to find particularly during the busy religious festivals of Semana Santa in April when many roads are closed or choked with people but it is well worth the effort if comfort, quality and service are your goals. Hidden behind large antique metal studded wooden doors this small and intimate luxury hotel would be easy to miss even when standing outside looking for it (which we were and which we did!) but once inside the friendly staff made it all worthwhile and the junior suite we had in the equally old annex across the narrow street was amazing. High ceilings, beautiful bathroom, well appointed and spacious room plus an extremely comfortable bed which was sometimes difficult to get out of in the morning particularly when they close the shutters allowing absolutely NO light into the room whatsoever. Close to the cathedral and well located in the old part of Seville which is a lovely area to roam and get lost in I would highly recommend Corral del Rey and look forward to my next visit when returning to Seville.

Room Tip: We had a junior suite which was quiet and spacious. i believe most rooms would be quiet as this is l...

We visited in late March to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had a lovely room in the annex, tip go for the Junior suite rooms, on the third floor. The room was great, nice comfortable bed and smooth sheets (my 1st personal test of a good hotel) and the hotel had given us a half bottle of cava which was lovely. The location is ideal, but easy to get lost! Breakfast is really nice and plenty of breads and pastries with nice fresh orange juice (Test 2 passed as well).

We sat up on the roof terrace with a nice cold beer when we got back one afternoon, which is a lovely location.

The staff are really helpful with advice and directions. They helped to book our recommended restaurant (by Shawn of Azahar Seville Tapas tours) on Sunday night, and as they hadn't tried it before they decided to go there themselves that night as well!

We used Shawn's site to select a local restaurant Vineria San Telmo, which was excellent. Only order the tapas sized dishes as they are HUGE!

Just one tiny let down, they said they would arrange a breakfast to be left for my wife who had to leave for an early flight, but this somehow got forgotten.

Room Tip: Book a junior suite (and book the Tapas tour with Shawn!) azahar-sevilla.com

Our group of two families reserved the two apartments. Just prior to arrival, I received an email to please meet at the apartment. Once there we discovered only one apartment was available - our friends (family of 4) took that 2-bedroom apartment. We (family of 3) were led to a very nice 5 star hotel and given a single room with 3 beds.

It was unfortunate to not get to stay with our friends in our own 2-bedroom apartment and unfortunate to be packed into a single room. However, the folks at Corral Rey did what they could and covered the cost of the hotel room.
