“Charming”
Reviewed 16 June 2012

A charming hotel tucked away off one of the "kissing lanes" in Sevilla. We had a great stay here. Great location in the "old" part of Sevilla, only a five minute walk to cathedral and Alcazar. The hot tub on the roof (with a view of the bell tower) was a special treat after walking all day. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this hotel.

We booked a room at El Ray Moro on the strength of the reviews & were not disappointed. We were very pleased with the hotel location down a narrow side street & didn’t have any problem finding it. It was also very close to the Real Alcazar & cathedral. Our room was on the second floor overlooking the lovely courtyard and whilst compact was very comfortable & clean. The hotel staff were very courteous & helpful. We liked the little touch of having a fridge stocked up with cold water (although by the evening this had all run out but was fully stocked up the next morning). Bikes were also available if required. There’s also a Jacuzzi on the roof which we used on a couple of locations. A good choice for exploring the many delights of the Santa Cruz area & Seville.

We spent five nights here, and had a wonderful stay. The neighborhood is great, the courtyard is lovely, the rooms are too. And the beds, which I think are memory foam mattresses, are exremely comfortable. The hotel has bikes for guests to use, which we did each day. The staff was extremely helpful. Can't recommend this hotel enough.

was our favorite hotel on our three week trip to Spain, split amongst eight hotels. Although the taxi could not get closer than a half-block from it, the narrow alley of Lope Rueda led to the most charming, quiet, colorful, unique place we had yet stayed. Every room is set up and furnished differently, our double room looked out on the beautiful courthard from the second floor. . Our friends' room was in a corner with a large entry The staff was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations, directions, and were very friendly without imposing on guests' privacy. The breakfast buffet is served in a pleasant bistro/bar area. Complimentary PC usage as well as wi-fi, and a charming rooftop terrace would bring us back there in a heartbeat if our travels take us to Spain again.

Although we could have been better prepared on how to arrive to the hotel, we found it with little problem. The taxi dropped us and pointed up the hill on a narrow road that is car could not fit. We walked through some twisty turney streets and found Lope de Rueda street in a few minutes - walking down the street looks as if it would be a dead end, but the street (width of a sidewalk) turns and then you can see the sign. Not knowing what to expect this was slightly uncomfortable, but when we arrived to the hotel it was beautiful, charming and clean with a lovely courtyard and beautiful rooms. I would strongly recommend to avoid rooms 27-29 if you plan to sleep at all past 8am. They are situated over a restaurant and therefore receive alot of noise during its open hours. In reference to the size of the rooms, I would consider these typically european rooms, they will be smaller than many are used to. We felt the price, location, and rooms were excellent for what we paid. Tip: when you leave the hotel, turn to the right and then turn right again on calley Reinoso. In this direction there are several lovely plazas that we missed until the last moments.......

Room Tip: Rooms above and around the restaurant are noisy after 8am.
