We stayed at Hotel Holos for four nights and were glad we did. We were initially welcomed warmly by Doña Carmen at our arrival and she and her staff did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. They explained potential spots to visit as well as making reservations for us. They were always very pleasant.
The hotel is located away from the downtown area of Seville in a quiet, safe neighborhood. The soccer stadium is a couple blocks away but we cannot comment on game days. Downtown is easily accessible by buses 3 and 34; once on the bus, it is perhaps 10-15 minutes, depending on traffic, to the downtown area. Carmen provided us with a bus card for our use which we ultimately needed to refill. If you wish to spend an evening in the area, about two blocks away are a couple restaurants for tapas or a full dinner. We visited the "Rincon de Monolo" and had excellent tapas and salads. Irene or Carmen can recommend some restaurants.
The hotel itself has rooms on three floors though it is considered a two story one because the ground floor is "0". We had a room on the top floor. There is no elevator but they take up your luggage. A person with limited mobility would have difficulty going to any of the upper rooms. There is one room on floor "0" . The stairway is a touch narrow but well lit if you use the light switch. (On Friday night, each step had a lit votive candle in a safe receptacle going up the stairs. Nice effect.) The room was air conditioned but we really had no need for it. There is no safe in the room but they take good care in knowing their guests. The bed was comfortable and each night a little origami work was left on your bed. The bathroom in our room was quite generous and they provided complementary bathrobes. We were impressed by the Venetian plaster in the bathroom. Our room also had a small loft accessible by a ladder. The breakfast is included in the price and it consists of some organic bread, juice, coffee, olive oil and a selection of jams and jellies. It was more than sufficient. They do not serve any other meals. However, if you desire fruit or wine or beer, etc., after you return from the sites, all you need to do is ask. If you need to leave early, they will have a breakfast ready for you before you go. Laundry and folding are available on a per washing machine load basis and is ready the same day. In addition, there is a sitting area on the roof as well as an outdoor shower for I imagine hot days.
The decor is minimalist. We completely recommend this small hotel. If you want to enjoy a place away from the hustle and noise of downtown Seville, but still convenient enough to get there quickly, this is your place.
