Description: Located on the Calle Gerona, El Rinconcillo has been serving up Spanish cuisine in Seville since 1760. This historic restaurant boasts a rustic-chic dining room that is dressed up in cosmopolitan clothes. With understated whitewashed brick walls, beamed ceilings, chandeliers and fresh flower arrangements, El Rinconcillo attracts everybody from local celebrities to families who come to enjoy traditional tapas and Sunday meals, and the mosaic-tiled bar with wine barrel tables is perfect for pre-dinner drinks and mid-afternoon glasses of wine. The menu is an eclectic collection of tapas dishes, stews, seafood, meat and sweet flans for dessert, and you couldnt find a more quintessentially Spanish eatery in Seville if you tried.

The service is a little unfriendly...
Theres not too many dishes in tapa size. The croquettes and jamon & cheese were nice but all in all there are other better places to go for tapas...

We booked to have an evening meal here, having read the great reviews on t.a. and in the guide books. On arrival we were shown upstairs to a table and what a disappointment. No atmosphere, drab decor and the waiting staff were clearly in a hurry to finish up and go home. At best the food could be described as mediocre and it was horribly overpriced. No tapas, just an a la carte menu.

More disappointing was that, having finished our meal, we found the downstairs still buzzing and lively. This is where all the character and atmosphere is and had we realised, we would have requested a table in the bar area when booking. The bar staff were very friendly and I write this not really to complain but just as a word of caution to anyone thinking of booking in advance.

We were looking for another tapas bar, and stumbled across this one. The interior is amazing, and you get a real sense for how the locals spend their time eating, drinking, and laughing. We stayed here for longer than expected. I would recommend this to anyone thinking about visiting Seville.
The tapas and drinks were very nicer, well priced, and the service was very good too.

The oldest bar in Sevilla and the atmosphere is wonderful. We had tapas and beer/wine, standing at the round tables amongst locals mainly and some tourists. Plenty of options for reasonably priced tapas - and good service. The old bottles on the walls, the hanging hams, watching the owner slice the ham off the bone and not a lot of English spoken, just added to the authentic Spanish taste of it all.
Can be crowded, but that's also a good sign.

We were in Seville during Semana Santa and this was our first introduction to tapas. We loved it all, the taberna, the bar staff, the atmosphere and the food. Such fast service and delicious food, cod with tomato, chick peas with spinach and the best little mushroom or asparagus tortillas. Luckily our hotel was a minute's walk away so we could visit often.
