“Famous but I don't know.”
Reviewed 5 August 2014

Normal food that you can taste in other restaurants in Zaragoza. Maybe the quality of the materials but I did not notice. Very expensive for me to taste a few tapas with in the restaurant where the atmosphere is just nothing special. A bit crowded for its small size.

“Too expensive ”
Reviewed 31 July 2014 via mobile

We came due to a recommendation in lonely planet, but do not agree at all with their recommendation.

We ordered the gastronomic menu for € 27 which was supposed to be 7 small dishes but it turned out to be 6 since two of them were combined.

First a tomato soup which was okay but not much else. Second dish was fried leeks and a onion in a soup. Not particular interesting. This was followed by a roll of some sort again deep fried and which did not taste like anything else than frying oil. Then fried cod - way to salty for our taste. Final salty dish was some beef in a gravy with twirls of white sauce on top. It looked like a dessert to us and was a bit too the sweet side as well. The actual dessert was a french toast - nice and not too sweet.

The service was extremely appalling. Plates were taken out even if not all members of our party had finished. While we were enjoying our dessert the staff started to put the chairs up even though the time was only 12 o clock. Not very polite.

“for a break of tapas”
Reviewed 22 June 2014

best food maybe in this town is tapear - means go to eat tapas

same here, but you can also chose a set menu degustation. house special are vegetables, as we had asparagus, ognion in white wine caramelized, tempura fried vegetable combination, veal braised with potato and dessert.

a pity the vegetables are to much cooked, the tempura was deliciuos, also the main course even if the potatoes are just stripes in white on the plate. only the dessert was disapointed, bread with mild/egg panfried and ice cream - called mariage of 2 vanillas is what we had as kids recycling the old bread - maybe in spain not so know, as the say is a dish served at bank holidays.

was interesting, also the nice local wine. maybe not the level it should and could be.

“Old but on the wave of quality”
Reviewed 8 November 2013 via mobile

Old fasioned furniture restaurant, small room downstairs, with a barra, good tapas and wine by the glass.....excellent menu for 20 €, fresh vegetables from tolosa and navarra, great quality, nice displays and absolutely tasty and healty food. Service is really efficient and polite, and lots of people getting in to have lunch.
Really nice meal, good wines to match with, sirius way to enjoy Food culture in zaragoza

“Out of ordinary tapas”
Reviewed 20 July 2013

Delicious creative tapas, a change from the usual heavy fried bar tapas. they come on a set of threes by theme ( vegetables, traditional etc. or single. Excellent and attentive service .Located in a narrow lively street . Gastronomic restaurant upstairs .
