Nicely decorated place with great (and not expensive) food. You can choose one of two rooms: one has more city like style and the other is like a country side "sidreria". The kitchen is the same for both. We chose the second for its Asturian environment and had a menu (a fixed list of dishes for a fixed price). It was 20 euros per person (cider included) and we had a delicious and abundant meal. The service is nice and quick. Absolutely recommendable.

A pleasant surprise. I had not read anything about it here on Tripadvisor, it was the hotel receptionist indication. A very nice place, the Cider very cold and taste, the food delicious and the service a masterpiece.

Placed in front of the Poniente beach, the restaurant plays the local spirit in a modern way but food is amazing, rich and not really expensive. Meat (beef, pork, veal) coming from Asturias is unbelievable, so good !
If you come with friends (from 6-7 mini), choose a table in a huge barrel = funny moment for sure!

El interior del restaurante nos hizo dudar un poco al entrar. Hay una tienda de productos 'artesanos' y otras cosas de Asturias. Nos tranquilizó ver que había mucha gente de Gijón comiendo y dentro de poco nos dimos cuenta de por qué - la comida es fabulosa. Ponen platos completos de muy buena calidad. La verdad es que no sé cómo puede la gente terminar un plato en el restaurante (pedimos una ensalada mixta más un plato 'normal' y no podíamos comer más). Muy, muy recomendable.

We feared we had been guided to a tourist trap when we first arrived. There is a store w/ artisan products and other wares from Asturias as you enter. We were comforted to see that there were a lot of locals eating and we soon found out why - the food is wonderful. They serve fantastic food in unbelievable portions. The truth is I have no idea how anyone can finish a plate they serve (we split a salad and one lunch and could not eat any more). Tierra Astur is well worth a visit.

Located at ground level in one of the ship like condominium buildings at the Poniente Beach, the decor and facilities are quite unique with heavy emphasis on a cider motif.
Upon entering, there is a large selection of Asturian products for sale to the public. To the left is a cider bar and to the right the restaurant area. There are many tables but they do fill up with natives at the typical spanish lunchtime of 3pm.
The menu is very extensive with pictures alongside the items. The portions are large and reasonably priced. Food & drinks for four adults came to 70 euros. Sevice was a bit slow but the locale was packed at the time we sat down to eat.
Would strongly recommend that visitors to Gijon visit this restaurant.
