“A class act”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 June 2014

This hotel is a a class act as everything is so seamless: great service, fabulous modern well appointed room, ample breakfast, easy accessible private parking and a great location. I cannot think of anything they could have done to make our stay more pleasant. Bilbao is also a great city and we can't wait to come back and stay in this hotel again.

When you arrive, don't be startled that there is no reception when you enter. You have to take the lift to the second floor. For us it was a little strange and kept us unaware of other guests at the hotel. It would have been nice to have a decent reception area with chairs to relax in, but it really doesn't matter.

The rooms are large with no carpets on the floors, nice bathroom, minibar, safe and a flatscreen (small) TV. We would have wanted some shelves in the bathroom and in the shower as we had to put some of our stuff on the floor (girls never travel lightly :-)).

We didn't have breakfast in the hotel as we thought 15 EUR for a buffet breakfast was a rip-off. We found a lovely bakery down the road which served everything we needed. There are plenty of places to choose from, so you don't have to eat at the hotel.

Great location as you're in walking distance to everything. It took us about 20 mins to walk to the bus station and approximately the same to Guggenheim. Casco Viejo (old town) is closer and you will be there in about 10 mins. Lots of good pintxos places close by in Calle Ledesma and the shopping centre El corte ingles is next to the hotel!

Room Tip: Ask for a quiet room if you sleep lightly. We used ear plugs in the night. Even though the street ou...

Booked a standard room and when we turned up "early" (i.e. 2pm), we were told that our room hadn't yet been cleaned. The staff was more than willing to store our luggage for the afternoon so we were able to explore Bilbao unencumbered. When we returned later that evening (around 6pm), we were told that because of the inconvenience, we had been upgraded to a junior suite! The room was exquisite: a huge living room and bedroom, 2 tvs, and an opulent bathroom. Couldn't have asked for more! The hotel breakfast was lovely but a bit of a scam, 15 euros for a simple buffet breakfast (and not included with your room).

The hotel has a central location in Bilbao. It's an easy walk to the old town, the Guggenheim Museum and the rail station. Plenty of amenities in the immediate neighborhood too. We asked for a quiet room and they put us on the back side of the hotel and it was quiet. The room was clean, modern and spacious with a nice bathroom. If I had one minor complaint it would be the top of the wall between the bedroom and bathroom is composed of glass brick so that if the light is turned on in the bathroom in the middle of the night, the bedroom is also lighted up. This is a minor point and it would not stop me from staying at this hotel again. The front desk staff spoke good English and was always helpful. As a security measure, the hotel elevator will not go above the floor of the lobby without a hotel key being inserted in the elevator control panel slot. I like it. The hotel isn't cheap but it's easy to pay more in this town.

Room Tip: Our room on the back side of the hotel was quiet and that's what we wanted.

Situated in the new town but within very easy walking distance of the old town and the Guggenheim. All the staff encountered were very polite and extremely helpful. The rooms were a good size, clean and the beds were very comfortable. The bathroom was also a good size and the shower always maintained a steady temperature and flow. Overall, good value for money and I would happily return here.

Room Tip: The room we stayed in overlooked the pedestrian precinct at the back of the hotel and was very quiet...

A modern hotel, centrally located, large rooms, minimalistic design (if you don't like this type of interior design, choose another hotel). The staff is very helpful. We enjoyed our stay, and will certainly check out other Sercotel hotels when visiting Spain again. As other visitors has mentioned, there are several opportunities for a nice breakfast in the vicinity of the hotel at 25 % of what you pay at the hotel (which was 16€).

This hotel has a very modern and urban feel. The lodging rooms were comfortable and clean. The front desk staff were responsive to our requests. The hotel is located on a street that forms an arc around the center of the city. A 20 minute walk along this street ends bordering the river and takes you directly to the Guggenheim Museum. Once you get to know the city you can take a more direct, quicker route between the hotel and this area of town.
