“Keep a sharp eye out for it from the road”

It is worth noting that as you approach the hotel, which is on the side away from the river, the parking is down a narrow ramp that is obvious only when you are directly in front. Just before then the facade looks like a shop or office. If you drive past, as I did, you have to do a loop around to the right which is a trifle complex. Luckily I arrived late at night, so there was little traffic. I needed to buzz for a man to come and open the metal gates to the parking below. It is cramped down there, but just about manageable. The man confirmed with some incredulity that we were willing to pay the €25 for parking.

Arriving at 11pm, my teen-age son was disappointed that the restaurant was closed and the city seemed closed as well, despite rumors that the Spanish dine late. The receptionist said we might try the Old Town, so we walked there. They were hosing down the lanes and all seemed abandoned until we reached the very heart, where a few bars were open. We did not try them though.

The rooms were clean and large. I noticed that there was no clock.

We were allowed to use the parking through 2pm the next day, which was handy. We did not try the breakfast as we were planning a luxurious lunch.

The Guggenheim is an easy and pleasant walk.

A surprisingly nice hotel on the river in Bilbao. The rooms are small but well equipped . The parking is underground and secure and accessed by the hotel elevator. The breakfast which was not included was an amazing bargain. A large buffet with full English breakfast as well as an array of sliced meat, cheese, and fruit. Including beverages it was 9 Euro per person! The bar was acceptable with reasonably priced drinks and tapas. The most amazing thing was the price of 80 Euro per night. recommended highly.

If you don't mind walking, this hotel is a good option. It is walking distance to the major sights in Bilbao and the train station. The river walk is in front of the hotel and offers beautiful views of the city. The rooms are very compact so remember that this is a converted older building. However, the bathrooms have rain showers (no tub) and are modern and clean. The restaurant is just OK, although the breakfasts are generous and offer a great variety of beverages, cold cuts, cheeses, cereals, breads and fruit. It is an excellent way to begin a busy day of sightseeing. The front desk staff was wonderful. The service in the restaurant was adequate. The modern decor of the lobby and restaurant was interesting and warmly welcoming.

Surprisingly nice hotel in a great location. Depending on what you're looking to see or do, it is an excellent location as a starting point. The Guggenheim Museum is only a 5 minute walk away. There are numerous little churches nearby to explore and enjoy or just photograph. Ample shopping opportunities abound also within walking distance.
The amenities were what you would expect from a well run hotel. The buffet breakfast was simply excellent with a great selection of meats, cheeses, fruits, entrees and drinks. Couldn't ask for more.

Helpful staff, lavish breakfast for 9 euros, quiet pleasant room, midway between Old town and Guggenheim, ideal for short stay in Bilbao and overall excellent value. Walk back up Paseo Volantin and look across the river for the best view of the Guggenheim-it looks like a battle ship from there rather than the jumble of metal it appears as close up.

This hotel is near the old town where many pintxos bars are, as well as being a 10-15 minute walk to the Guggenheim Museum. Staff was friendly and professional. The beds are very comfortable, there's a flat screen tv, the internet connection was great. Bathroom amenities include razor and a small tube of shaving cream, toothbrush and a tiny tube of toothpaste, comb...things you don't often find nowadays in a hotel room without having to ask for them. The hotel has a breakfast buffet as well as a couple of set menus for lunch. There was also a minibar in the room which I didn't open, but the electric kettle and huge shower head really added to the stay!

There's a little bit of excessive "fancy" with this hotel, as it tries to be very upscale. But there are some laughable items, including a disco-ball-laden cow. Be that as it may, the hotel is clean, the staff is nice, and parking is onsite. Location is not right next to the Guggenheim or old town, but it's close enough.
