“Not fancy enough to be 4 star”

This hotel was ok. The location was good, very close to Gran Via (shopping) and a few nice bars around it. Walking distance to the old town. There was a bit of a smell of cigarette smoke in the room and as we were on the 6th floor we were under the gym so it was a little noisy. Our room looked out onto an indoor lane way which wasn't very nice. The wifi was excellent and the air conditioning worked very well. The staff had English but weren't that friendly. The breakfast was ok. The bar was never open and the restaurant always looked pretty empty.

This Hotel is in a very good location.
Near to the Museum and lot of nice places.
Very enjoyable places near by.
WIFI was complementary and and very good.
Buffet breakfast little costly but it was good.
Rooms are very clean and little big.
Front office very helpful. It is very close to Indian restaurant Gandhi.
It is just 50 meters away.

This hotel is located in just the right spot. You can walk to just about everywhere. But than again, Bilbao isn't that big...
Staff is friendly.
Rooms are clean.
Bed was felt like there was plastic underneath the linnen.

The one thing we didn't like was the fact that everytime someone else in the hotel used the toilets, we could hear everything.

No restaurant, but great little places just outside.

I stayed in Hotel Abando for a conference in Euskalduna. The hotel is very close to Abando Metro Station (1 minute walk) and its only four Metro stations away (<2 min) to Euskalduna. Within 2 minutes walking radius, you can also find a nice park, a large mall El Corte, main railway station, one halal Indian restaurant, and rows of coffee family bars. 20 minutes walking will get you to Old Town (favourite tourist strolling spot), and Calle San Francisco (this looks like a dodgy street, but you can get a lot of Asian and Halal food here).
The front desk staff are friendly and speak good English.
The room is considerably spacious, with good amneties. Unfortunately, there is no coffee making facilities or cloth iron. Wifi connectivity is excellent at my 6th floor.

Business trip to Bilbao, stayed there on June 5th one night. When I checked in at 5 pm I heard a noise like an engine coming from the upper floor (I was in room 615) but I thought it was a dryer. Sadly, that noise went on and on and was still there when I left next morning. My colleague was next room and in the morning I found out he requested a room change during the night. I didn't, I just tried to get some sleep not to go through the hassle of a room change in the middle of the night. Even though my colleague told them at 1 am, they didn't stop the noise wherever it came from. They just gave him another room and left that engine on (a boiler, according to the lady that checked the origin of the noise).
Breakfast was nothing special, in any case it could never make up for the bad sleep night.
Not staying again.

We stayed here for 2 nights, it's location is perfect for the old town, Guggenheim and shopping. Our room was spacious and clean but the bed was very firm, the wifi signal weak, also no English tv channels.the reception staff did not come across as very friendly or helpful, we didn't try breakfast at 14€! So went to local cafes at <10€ for two.we probably wouldn't stay here again.

I stayed here for 5 nights on a business trip, and had an enjoyable stay. I stayed for 4 nights in a double, which was very spacious, and after a short get away, in a single for one night. For a single, it was still quite large and comfortable. Wi-fi had a good connection, even at the end of the hall. I did think that the 3rd level, street facing room was quite loud at night though. Very clean, fantastic breakfast spread. Helpful staff. I'd stay again.

Room Tip: Opt away from the street, or higher than 3.
