“Probably 3 and a half if I could”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 28 May 2014 via mobile

Big advantage is that it is open on Sunday night which is rare in Bilbao. Great views of the city just a short walk from the top of the the funicular. Menu is extensive but no English translation, but one waiter does speak it quiet well. Food is good quality but sadly virtually no vegetables, they miss a great selling opportunity. It is a nice friendly set up but sadly when we were there virtually empty so no real atmosphere. A little dated needs a bit of a rethink.

“Try the Chuleton!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 November 2013

We had just arrived into Bilbao and were less than impressed with the city itself. Outside of the Guggenheim Museum which we loved, this was the only other saving grace for this city. We arrived late at night on the recommendation of a taxi driver (always listen to them), and were immediately impressed by the amazing views. Don't be turned off by the cafeteria style bar entrance, the restaurant is actually very good. The food was incredible and so was the view of the city, which actually looked beautiful all lit up at night!! We ordered an appetizer of Callos, (Just order it,don't worry about what it is, ask later) it was knock out good. We paired that with a bottle of their house wine and a plate of slice Iberico Ham, crazy good. Then the star of the show showed up, El Chuleton. This incredible, tasty, juicy piece of dry aged beef, is only barely cooked so you can finish cooking it table side over a hot stone. Delicioso!!!!!The staff was very welcoming and especially the owner, she came over and offered us a bottle of their Txakoli wine as a souvenir which made the experience even more special.

“Good meal ruined”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 26 August 2013

Nice place, good service and very tasty food. So why only the two stars? Simply because we took the restaurant advice and had the sea bass for two, and when we got the bill they'd charged us €70 for that one fish alone! Whole meal cost more than €140 and it wasn't THAT good!

Our fault I suppose, should've have checked, but listening to the waiters around the room, they seemed to be pushing that dish, so I guess we weren't the only ones.

In essence, give it a go, but watch the cost!

“Good location but unable to see the view and overpriced”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 January 2013 via mobile

We visited here for having some food but I couldn't. We had pinchos, 7up and beer. The pinchos are ok but beer is 3.30 euros and 7up is 2.40 euros. One thing which made us angry was waiter gave us bill with incorrect price. We complained about it but they looked us as if we lied to them.

In general, food was ok and location is wonderful but no one couldn't sit by the window and drink is very expensive.

Don't want to go again.

“Excellent Meal, Fabulous Views, Great Staff”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 7 October 2010

We weren't sure what to expect when we got to this place in an public park overlooking the city. The main room is a strange bar/cafeteria with people milling about and football on the tv. However, we located the dining room at the rear which was most attractive, all laid up with white table cloths and sparkling glasses. Excellent view from the mostly glass wall over the city. We were the only pepole in there to begin with and I'm not sure how but we never got any menus - the friendly waiter just made suggestions and we went along with them. Lovely large garlic prawns & serrano ham to start followed by excellent steak. Loads of lovely wine and we all (8 of us) rated our food very highly. The waiting staff were excellent and even though we'd eaten and drunk a fair amount, the bill was quite reasonable for this quality of restaurant.
