“Nice hotel but fair walk to city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 July 2014 via mobile

This hotel was clean and modern but was a good 20 minute walk into the city centre. It is a nice walk but after 3 days it started to become tiresome. The good part about this hotel is that they have a large film library in multiple languages so if you feel like an arvo/night in you have many options to keep you entertained. Breakfast was average. Overall a bit overpriced for what you get.

It s very nice modern boutique hotel thought it is a walk from the Old Town it is also in a quitter location next to the bus route. Its not a bad walk as we always walked around Europe and the city is gorgeous. Take a break and have a cafe or a glass of wine on the way to Old Town. Very friendly staff, very clean room and good enough amenities. The smell is nice unlike some other hotels. The breakfast buffet is good enough to get you ready for your day and not overfill you.

The only problem in San Sebastian is that there are not enough money changers and the hotel does not do exchange nor where they knowledgeable to direct you where to go exactly to get change other than use an ATM. Oh well, lesson learned. The decor is cool with the various artists but I fell it the details wasn't that good.

We did not realized it rained a lot in Donostia and when we asked for umbrellas, they could only give one per room, not even 2 per couple. That's a first for me. They should never run out of umbrellas for their guest, never.

The free Wi-fi is fast and secure to your room account, that's a big plus for me.

I love the library, one of the best I have seen where one can just sit and chat. I prefer this than a large lobby. Won't mind staying here again when I return to glutton on the amazing gastronomic feast.

Room Tip: Ask for the corner room with a view of the boulevard...its an upgrade and we were given that room. J...

We had high hopes for this hotel as we're big film fans. However we were slightly disappointed. Despite it being one of the more expensive hotels in the area we were charged nearly 20 euros extra to park out car at the hotel. This is made even worse when you realise it isn't even that central and it's a good 20 minute walk to the old town. The wi-fi wouldn't work unless you stood right next to the room door and even then the signal was weak. The roof of the bathroom was broken and in our guide book in the room there were pages missing from the English section so we couldn't read how to get the films they included in the list. I'd say it was being slightly optimistic grading it as a 4 star, more like a 3 star.

The lobby was brilliant though with the film inspired library.

The hotel is a bit far from the old town and the city center but its a 15-20 min pleasant walk passing great shops and restaurants. The rooms are a good size and reasonable price. Staff are friendly and the hotel has some character. I would definitely recommend everyone to rent apartments with the sea view. The hotels at the beach are very expensive so try getting apartments. If you do decide to stay at a hotel, this hotel is modern, clean and cool. So I do recommend it but next time, Im getting an apartment!

Stayed here on our honeymoon and staff were a great assistance when the airline misplaced our luggage. Rooms great and location pretty good but perhaps just a tad out of the action. However this keeps rates very competitive and walking/buses/taxis all easy to central/old town. Would stay here again.

A boutique hôtel with great access to the public transport network to take you into the heart of San Sebastian in 10 minutes or out to fantastic place such as Hondarriba in 30 minutes. The bus to and from Bilbao airport stops across the road.

From check-in to check-out we were warmly looked after and when a member of the group fell ill, a late check-out request was happily accepted.

The hotel has been tastefully themed around the San Seb film festival, with each room featuring a different actor, with photos and film credits everywhere. Breakfast was excellent, but if you want something lighter to start the day there is a lovely cafe next door.

Definitely worth a return visit.

Room Tip: Choose your actor/ess? Sigourney Weaver maybe?

I spent 2 nites here in July. Things I liked about the hotel:

- Just diagonally across the street from the bus terminus. Very convenient when departing to/arriving from other parts of Spain, such as Bilbao.
- Its got character. I got the Sean Penn room at the top floor, with a small terrace! Really enjoyed the movie theme all throughout the hotel.
- While the hotel is not in the center of town, there are buses you can take (across the street) that can get you there in a few minutes (if you'd prefer not to walk or are pressed for time).
- While the room was quite small, it wasn't too bad for a solo traveller like me.

Would definitely stay here again if I have the opportunity to come to San Sebastian again.
