The views are amazing, there's no doubting that. What ruined this for us, was the attitude of one member of the bar staff. Clean shaved black haired young guy. He was just so rude his attitude stank, I got the impression he didn't like the English . I mean we did try to speak Spanish but he was just soooo rude.

Thought this would be a good choice for the final night of our holiday. Though the hotel has spectacular views it is a long way from the centre of San Sebastián main town and a big surprise was that you have to go through a barrier entrance to an amusement park to get to the hotel. The park is not advertised on the site for the hotel and unless you know the area would not be aware that this hotel is located just above the park.
We had a deluxe room and on booking asked for a quiet room, we were given one directly above the patio area of the park which was very noisy with crowds of people congregated who were visiting the park. On asking to be moved we were greeted by a perplexed receptionist who said everybody requested rooms overlooking the bay and the public noise would finish at about 8.30pm and not start again until 9.00am the next morning. She reluctantly changed our room to one directly opposite the lifts !
The room was very clean and decorated to a good standard with comfortable beds pushed together, the bathrobes were tatty.
The restaurant and bar area views are picturesque and the evening meal, of steak delicious, though mine was cooked a little rare on asking for this to be done a little more only half of the cut was returned to me. The waiter was very good and friendly, even though the hotel was full there were only a couple of tables taken and lacked atmosphere.
The breakfast was adequate though the staff did not replenish when items were used up even though more people kept arriving and the scrambled eggs were congealed and looked disgusting, inedible and unappetising.
The hotel advertise a swimming pool, which we hoped to use on our arrival, though they omit, again,to inform clients that this does not open until July ! proving another disappointment and hidden lack of information on their behalf.
The car park is also very tight and not very big. This hotel is only four star for the old world decor and spectacular views it trades on. It is not worth the higher they prices charge and I am sure there are better hotels in the area a more reasonable prices.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet room ask for one not overlooking the amusement park, which in the height of summ...

Thanks for your review.
I am glad you had a good stay with us.
I will contact our main headquarter to see what we can do about the lack of information you say (swmming poll and barrier on the road - it is a private area).
See you on your next trip hopefully!
Kind regards,
Marymy Pascual
