I usually stay at this hotel when I go between Madrid and Bordeaux.

The hotel has all facilities well appointed. Parking is free. Safe, clean hotel grounds and rooms.

The rooms are medium-small, but adequate for a night, or two stay. The bathroom is large and comfortable, very clean.

Rooms have phones, tv and basic cable access. Also, there is room service. Although, the later may not be so prompt at times, a particularly critical aspect since the restaurant and therefore, the kitchen do not seem that busy, if at all.

Minus: No free WiFi. A hotel of this caliber, and price should offer free WiFi. No excuses.

The views from the Ocean-side and Bay-side are truly impressive. It is a hotel that is removed from the city, and provides ample space for a relaxed stay away from city noise and traffic. It's a bit outdated. Good privacy level, and good service level.

Although this hotel was a true find, and a heck of a deal a few years back, today it may not merit its cost, and will look for something with a better quality-to-price ratio in the future.

Rooms are a bit old, but great views if u have a sea view. This is the hotel's asset. The pool is great, again fab views and pool is big. However it is a bit of a mission to get to the old town were all the action takes place in San seb. U can get the fernicular train and then it's a 30-40mins walk. Or driving is easier, but then u have to find parking in town. Taxi back to hotel costs about 12euro. Breakfast at hotel is 16euro per person, but view from breakfast room is probably the best you can get in the whole city.

We stayed for 6 nights and by chance had an excellent room (416) which had a lovely balcony with amazing sea views and was reasonably quiet. The rather dated hotel is built on top of an old fashioned fun fair (at the top of a mountain) so some rooms overlook a roller coaster. Fortunately the fair closes about 8.30 in the evening. Unfortunately the funicular stops running mid evening so a taxi is the only way back if you go out to dinner (unless you drive). The good points - friendly staff, great views, nice swimming pool area, everywhere was clean. Not so good points - the so called 'high speed internet' works only intermittently. The first 3 days it hardly worked at all although improved the day a big business meeting was held at the hotel, so very frustrating. The breakfast was poor with the food looking as if it had been prepared/sliced the previous evening - we bought our own from a supermarket after day 1 - although you have to do that the day before as the funicular doesn't start till 10 am. The restaurant in the evening was very average and quite pricey. The noise from the fun fair is constant and rather annoying. We are pleased we had the wonderful views but probably wouldn't stay again or recommend to friends.
