Perfect location and charming hotel to explore San Sebastian!! you are right in the center to go for pinxhos in the old town and for dinner at the restaurants around the area. Few minutes from La Concha beach and the port, One of the hotel sides faces the river and the view must been very nice (I was in the other side of the building), recommend to take the main door facing the river and start walking around the promenade to enjoy the views of the sea and having fun running and trying to keep yourself dry every time the waves hit the walls and splash distracted bystanders. Great job integrating the charm of the traditional buildings with all the amenities of a modern 5*. This is a place to enjoy... got a huge room with an amazing bed and great decoration that gives you the feeling of being at home, the bathroom had both a modern tub and a shower (separate), they were up to the latest trend. fair to say is that this is the second time in all of these years traveling around that I've enjoyed being at a 5* that invites you to stay there and just chill out (that is not at all inc resort). The staff were very attentive... small details expected from a 5* were missing though. I was celebrating my bday and despite the fact that I am a member of starwood program and that they took the data from my passport didn't hear at least a greeting saying have a nice bday or anything like that (and for the first time I think I've actually mentioned it during the registration when asked about help with my small backpack). Well, guess that since the hotel was full of movie stars the staff had too much requests and details to deal with, but still. Didn't go for dinner or breakfast at the hotel (there are so many places around to enjoy!) and I thought that the price for the breakfast was quite expensive (unless you really like a breakfast buffet) but when staying at other hotels in the region the charge was similar, somehow since I normally eat a light breakfast paying 27E seemed to me a high price (of course it may be a good deal for the buffet-lovers). You can walk from the bus station to the hotel and it will take around 15-20 min, just follow the riverside. Wifi is paid and expensive but there are computers in the lobby that you can use, so very handy. There was parking available. Cannot remember if there was a gym (not my priority when on holidays!). I really enjoyed the hotel and highly recommended it. Of course it is not cheap but they have good deals.
