Good location; comfy bed but there was noise from adjoining room & too expensive for what it was.
Great location: One block back from the beach and a less than 10 min walk to the old town where the action is.
Room: Comfortable bed and room but could hear noisy men talking through an adjoining (but locked) door in the next room late at night. No balcony; no view where we were. Block out curtains were really good.
Expensive: Pricy when compared to accommodation in the rest of Spain, but San Seb is pricier anyway.
Wifi: The free wifi is good in the small lobby; lousy in the room, pooh.
Reception: One really friendly lady who spoke English fluently and was very helpful. We must learn some more Spanish before we return.
San Sebastian is wonderful and we will return to eat pintxos, relax at the fabulous spa; and enjoy the vibe but would consider other hotels too. Btw, our friends say: “Don’t stay up on the hill”.

We stayed in room 504, a great view of La Concha beach, the spa bath was great, the hotel is very close to La Concha beach, about 200 meters walk, staff were friendly. all in all this hotel was one of the best on this trip we did. on the downside, the free internet times out regularly on all our apple devices, it was inconvenient, but accepted it for what it was.

Room Tip: ask for a room with a spa bath

This hotel is not on the beach, but you might have an ocean view like we did. It is only about a block from the beach and about a 10-15 min walk from the train station. It is about a 3-5 minute walk to the beach and about a 5-10 min walk to the heart of the old downtown area where all the Tapas Bars are located. To walk from one end of the beach to the other is probably about 40 minutes (it looks less than that, so just be prepared).

The room itself was nice - about what you would expect for a European room. There was enough space for the two beds and an extra chair in the room and it had hardwood floors. The only thing we didn't like about the hotel is that when you put your card in to illuminate the room, a green light goes on outside your room. So, when you leave and pull your card out, the green light goes out, indicating you are not in your room. We didn't like other people in the hotel knowing our whereabouts. We did have two keys, so we just kept one in the room (showing we were there) even when we left. But, other than that, the hotel is nice and the staff is friendly.

Be advised that if you do the "early no cancellation" booking to get the lowest price, that they bill your card and you can't change it to another card. Also, they were unable to print a receipt for us showing a zero balance or what we were charged. We had to take their word for it.

Room Tip: We were on the 1st floor, which was actually like the 6th floor of the building. We did have an oce...

We had chosen this hotel because its standard twin rooms were supposed to be 20 sq meters and with a big window. But when we arrived there they gave us a tiny dirty room with a...porthole! I had to complain for an hour until they moved us to a slightly better room that at least had a window. The room's condition was quite tragic; the walls were extremelly dirty, the lights didn't function and the curtain have fallen the moment we touched it!
The bathroom was tiny too and very dirty. We had to use wet tissues to clean it and they turned up black! And of course they didn't even change the towels so we had to ask them to, but this is quite difficult as at the reception they don't speak english!!!!
Furthermore, there was no sound isolation at all!
The wi-fi service was terrible. They have little papers with passwords (different for each device) valid for 24 hours but if you leave the hotel or change the floor, you need to start all over with a new one!
I really wonder why this is a 4 star hotel! The rooms don't worth it, the service is bad (they don't even speak english), the hotel is ugly (the reception hall is a small room with a desk and an ancient velvet sofa), the building smells terrible..the location is the only positive!.. Only the prices are corresponding to a 4 star hotel!
Fortunately San Sebastian is such a nice place that we get over the hotel and we had a grEat time

This hotel is literally a five minute walk to the beautiful beach and that is the reason we paid 150€ a night to stay there. But apart from the location, this place is overpriced at best. I have to say that the front desk staff were energetic, warm and helpful in every way, but the physical facility was...well... weird. The public areas and the room seemed dated and worn, but a thorough redecoration had obviously take place recently. For example, the elevators to the guest rooms can only be accessed by a short flight of stairs, making it necessary for the poor guy at the desk to run out and carry all baggage up to the elevators. The elevators themselves are creaky, metallic structures that feel more industrial than hospitable. The signage was on printer paper taped to the walls. Yet, the corridors were strikingly (if darkly) decorated...like a page out of a travel magazine.

These are little things. The housekeeping was not. One day our room was not cleaned at all until we went down to the lobby to request maid service while we were at dinner. A bigger problem, though, was that the bare floors were apparently never swept. For a beach hotel, this was a big problem. Sand was everywhere, clinging to our bare feet and making its way into the bed. We had to wear socks the whole time-I mean, step out of the shower and put on socks before stepping onto the floor!

All in all, the place was serviceable, but in no way luxurious. If we stayed here again, we would just keep our shoes on the whole time! More likely, though, we would choose to stay a bit farther from the beach (no place is too far away) for less money.

The hotel is half a block from the boardwalk and the beaches. Also is is in the old area of the city so access to bars, restaurants and ice cream shops was 3-5 blocks. The rooms are good, clean and we had a room with a view of the ocean. If you are a member of melia membership (free) breakfast is 50% off. Customer service was great from the reception to the valet. No parking is available so you must valet the car 24 euros per day.

It's an average boxy building hotel within a few minutes walk from San Sebastian's main beach. The receptionist is very helpful and the rooms clean even if very small. However, everything about this hotel tends to be pricey, from breakfast to hotel's own car park fee. So as a solution we recommend going down a few blocks from the hotel for the private paid car park and go around a few blocks for breakfast the Spanish style: coffee and pastries which will cost you each one third of the price the hotel is charging you.
