“Lovely Hotel for visiting San Sebastian”
Reviewed 19 November 2013

This hotel was booked based on tripadviser reviews, plus the fact it had free parking and a bus passing every 30 minutes going into the old town. The receptionist gave loads of information at check-in and a really handy map for getting around.

The room was nice and had a balcony and a fabulous sea view. Breakfast was a few euro each day and consisted of bread, cheese, yogurt, jam, juice, tea & coffee - if your too lazy (like me) to go searching for breakfast cafe's in the morning this is perfect. The breakfast room has lovely views over the bay of biscay.

The bus stops right outside the hotel every 30 minutes and costs €1.60 each way and brings you to the old town. The bus stops at 10pm but taxi's later then this only cost €10 back. You can also walk a few minutes up the road to the Monte Igueldo Hotel and get the Funicular (Tram) down the mountain. This will cost a few euros as you have to pay a small entry fee into the park and also onto the funicular. If you travel from the bottom up, you don't have to pay the park entry fee. The bus also stops outside the bottom part of the funicular.

This hotel offers good value for San Sebastian with the added bonus of free parking and transport at it's door. It's clean, comfortable and offers a cheap continental breakfast in the morning

Just returned from 5 days in Donostia with 4 nights at the Leku Eder.

Not a fancy hotel but the staff and its position make it exceptional for a stay. All is clean, breakfast is Spanish but as much as you need.

Rooms overlooking the Bay of Biscay are brilliant - even when low cloud limits the view! Also a little quieter because of the road outside.

Free car parking is good and the journey is about 10 mins to town with 20 mins to the Old Town. Best to use the bus every 30 mins from outside the hotel. €1.60 for an adult and 30 mins to the centre of the old town - right next to the pinxtos bars.

Fully recommend but book well ahead.

Room Tip: Rooms overlooking the sea are quieter

We booked based on Tripadvosor reviews, and were not disappointed. We had a basement room (006), good space, big terrace, very nice view. Spotless clean. Only soap is provided so take the other basics with. Breakfast was typical continental for Spain - jamon, cheese, croissants, bread, yogurt, great coffee. And a view. We did not use the bus, we walked to the funicular (1 euro approx per person) on Monte Igueldo (just up the road, probably 5 minutes - but be aware, you have to pay to enter the mountain, 2.20 euros per person) and got a taxi back late that night (7 euros). All channels had an English option, unless the original language was Spanish. Receptionist friendly, helpful, gave great tips (and a great map) and spoke English. Would go back anytime.

Room Tip: Try to get a sea view room, I think the road side rooms would be noisy.

Good choice for San Sebastian, especially if you drive (parking is free).Best to book way in advance and try to get the rooms with an ocean view, which are also the furthest from the road-the others can be noisy. The staff (especially the gentleman working weekday shifts)is outstanding.

This is an interesting alternative to a hotel in the city, being a couple of miles out on the hillside with great views. Try to get a sea view. Free parking and a frequent cheap bus service to take you into the city so you can let yourself go on the tapas. The only slight problem being the bus stops around 10.00 pm but a taxi wouldn't cost a fortune.

The hotel decor is quaint, and the rooms are a reasonable size and very clean. Limited toiletries.

A decent breakfast is served in a room with a sea view. It's not cheap for a 2/3 star (can't remember which) hotel, but all hotels in SS are pricey. However we were pleased with this hotel and recommend it.

Room Tip: Ask for a sea room and a double bed if that's want you want.

Booked this on the strength of TripAdvisor reviews and was not disappointed. The receptionist spoke excellent English and was extremely helpful. Plenty of free parking and the bus runs twice an hour into the town for 1,60 euro each way. So no parking or worries about someone not drinking. Good value, very clean and well appointed rooms. Ours was in the basement, but still had a lovely view - pity the weather wasn't better, but hope to return). WIFI reception was a bit tricky and not possible in our room, but in parts of the lounge. I thought the breakfast was not very inspiring, but then I'm not into cold meat and cheese..
