“Great Location”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 18 July 2009

This is a no-fuss hotel - rooms are small, not many on-site facilities - however, if you are in San Sebastian to enjoy the lovely beaches and weather, this place is perfect.

Its location is excellent, being just one block from the beach. I also got a reasonable (by San Sebastian's standards) room rate. The rooms themselves are nothing to write home about, but were clean and quiet. The staff were also friendly and got the job done.

In summary, this hotel is clean, functional and reasonably priced. Its location is the main advantage.

as my girlfriend booked this, i thought the one star was part of the logo. i was very surprised to hear that it was its rating, one that exceeded many of the 2 thru 4 star hotels booked over our holiday. location tough to beat, and wouldnt look elsewhere on a return visit to san sebastian

The hotel is pretty new and it shows. Tiny reception desk. Double room was very dark, just two lamps at both sides of the bed, no way to write at the desk. Wifi is for free but the speed is very slow, almost useless sometimes (< 1Mbs)

I liked: the location and price

I disliked: dark room, bad internet access

My partner and I stayed here at the last minute for 1 night in July 2008. We found Hotel Zaragoza Plaza very clean & quiet. We paid $120AUD for a Private Double Room. The room consisted of a Double Bed, wardrobe, drawers, Hair Dryer, Telephone, TV, mini fridge, desk and Aircon. The room was very clean, modern and very comfortable. There is elevator access and WIFI access for the Internet if you have a Laptop. We did not have a Laptop so the reception staff allowed us to use their Laptop in our room. We also needed to check out at 5am the next morning. This was not a problem, reception is open 24/7. They will arrange taxi's or any other services you require. They also gave us information on the sites & directions in San Sebastian. Breakfast is not included. The location is great with only a short walk to the beach or shops. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Stayed 2 nights - arrived very late on the first night, staff were very helpful, no problems, As per other reviews, rooms are smallish but are modern, well-appointed and comfortable. Booking a room with a balcony is worthwhile. Good location as its a short walk to the beachfront and the old town. Staff were generally helpful and pleasant, overall hotel rates highly as value for money. San Sebastian is a good base for a day trip to the Guggenheim in Bilbao, and worth a visit in its own right.

Not a lot of bells and whistles but the location is great and the rooms (while small) are clean and comfortable. I looked at a lot of hotels in this area and the price difference was quite high-- Plaza Zaragoza is great value for the money. There are heaps of bars and restaurants nearby, no need for one in the hotel. We will definitely stay there again.

Stayed here for 4 nights in Late August, on arrival they had only a twin room instead of a double room as i had booked, they offered me a double room in the end but it was so dreadful we ended up staying in the twin room, tiny rooms, no facilities at all in the hotel not even a vending machine, breakfast was terrible and extremely expensive, one bonus was its excellent location but overall would not recommend

Dear Customer:

In the absence of more details about your stay, probably the room booked by you was a standard twin room. As you rightly indicate, a double room was offered at your request, but finally you decided to stay in the room initially booked. Regarding the facilities, we regret that you found them sparse. The establishment facilities include breakfast and the rooms have minibar service. In relation to breakfast, we regret that this was not to your liking. The current continental breakfast, whose price amounts to EUR 6 + vat per person, includes orange juice, hot drinks, fruit salads, cereals, ham, cheese and pastries to choose diverse (croissants, toast, bread, muffins, donuts, neapolitan...). Finally, we thank you very much for the view expressed in Tripadvisor, as it helps us greatly to improve our service and to correct any deficiencies
