The best staff experience we've had in Europe to date. I needed to contact home or personal reasons during my stay and the staff were very accommodating, helping me use their fax and phone for international calls. They went above and beyond.
It's in a prime location. 5 minute walk to the beautiful beach. In the heart of the old town and great restaurants and bars.
I saw several rooms as we had friends there and most of them are overly spacious which was nice for a change! Always kept clean.
Not a bad word to say about this little gem! I can't wait to return to this amazing town!

We hesitantly booked for one night, knowing that we would need accommodations for four nights. We were so pleasantly surprised, that we booked for the other three nights, even though we had to move. The location was perfect, it was perfectly clean, I definitely would go back there again. By the way, don't miss the "McDonald's" fast food joint of all things mussels, beer and sangria next door.

From the moment we walked in, to the moment we left I couldn't have asked for a much better place to be staying!
When my friends and I booked La Pension Edorta we where so unsure of what to expect!

All the staff where lovely, but one of the men was particularly nice, one the first night I wasn't very well and I asked if they had any water, and he explained that they don't provide any drinks and he was sorry, however two minutes later we had a knock on our door and he'd brought us some water!! And then, one our last day we'd been on a walk up to the top of San Seb with Jesus statue and I'd fallen over, and as soon as I arrived back he bandaged it up for me!
This type of attitude goes a long way, and was much appreciated.
So yeah, the staff are soooo friendly, and spoke english, however as I am studying spanish I wanted to practice talking to them in Spanish and they couldn't have been more appreciative. So I would definitely recommend learning the basics in spanish, hola, buenos dias, muchas graicas, adios, ect. as it is definitely appreciated everywhere San Seb.

Because we book quite last minute, 20days before, we where unable to get a private bathroom (which was slightly inconvenient at times, probably more so for the people that had to share with us three girls). However, our shared bathroom was always, without fail, clean and tidy, with two sinks and close to our rooms.

The location, well that was perfect, literally don't think I could have asked for better located accommodation. Although we weren't here for a weekend, so probably didn't experience the full extent of business in the evenings, we never had any problems with noise in the evenings, in the mornings or at any point of the day. The Pension is also situated next to a small shop, which sells drinks (liter water for only 1euro, which we purchased everyday) and snacks, and then across -literally two steps across- there is a little shop which has loads of fresh fruit!
However, we went out for all our meals so didn't really need to buy much food!
I must recommend a bakery/smoothie bar/cafe/restaurant called Raviolina which is literally 10seconds down from the pension, and they're lovely in there! a few of the girls really like practicing their english with you, and the others who don't speak it are just as friendly!

La Pension Edorta is situated inbetween two lovely beaches, la concha is more of a family beach and less rough sea, and is just beautiful! And then the other beach you have to walk through the town and over the bridge, but is equally as beautiful however a lot smaller and suffers easily take up a quarter of the beach!

If you want a quite evening in, as we did on our first night, then i recommend just going for some yummy tapas and then back to the room, where you're not likely to hear much noise as the pension ask everyone to be quite after 11pm!
However, if you want a slightly more lively night, then you've also come to one of the best places, I wouldn't recommend going out to much before midnight, as on our first night we where out too early and found the first bar quite dead, however the spanish know how to party hard and will go on far into the morning, which we enjoyed very much!

So overall, I would recommend Pension Edorta!
Improvements:
What would make Pension Edorta even better would be...
-separate toilets
(although sharing a shower was fine, was a bit annoying with the toilet being in there too)
-Mini fridges in the room

Pros:
-Location
-Staff
-Price
(definitely get what you pay for. If anything I think we got more than we paid for)
-Comfortable Beds
-Lots of wardrobe space
-Television
-And just all round lovely!!

We arrived in San Sebastian on a Friday evening and the room itself was nice and exactly what we expected for our money.

However, given the small size of this Pension it was a shame that there was no welcome and no help afforded to us on San Sebastian itself on arrival or during our stay. In fact, we were left completely alone apart from when given our room key. All other Pensions, B&Bs and Hostels we stayed in during our 3 week tour of Spain offered at the very least a quick guide through a map, and pointed out things we should try and do (sites and restaurants) during our stay. It was a real shame we were not given this as San Sebastian can be a confusing experience for first timers there (Pintxos bars especially were a brand new experience!).

We stayed on Friday and Saturday night which was extremely busy in San Sebastian, however we were not prepared for the level of noise that would find its way into our room from the street. Even using ear plugs it was very difficult to get to sleep and ruined our enjoyment of an otherwise pleasurable visit.

If possible, when booking, try and get a room that is not on the street side, as there is no sound proofing whatsoever, and at weekends the noise rumbles on well into the small hours.

On the plus side, the bathroom was really nice, and the location of the Pension was completely ideal. We were very close to all the beautiful sites of the old town. The exposed walls on the room were really pretty too, although they seem to have run out of steam when it came to renovating the ceiling!

Room Tip: Rooms that do not face the main street, there is no view to miss out on, and only noise to endure if...

Cute little pension in the old town close to lots of great pinxto bars. Short walk to the main beach. Tidy, large rooms and clean bathrooms. And a lift!
Get a room at the back if you're staying over the weekend as the old town is party central and very noisy on Fri and Sat nights!
Good find, would stay here again.

Location is perfect, in the old town, and around the corner from the beach. Were in a twin room, which was huge!! Very spacious, with comfy beds, and an equally adequate bathroom. Staff were a great help in suggesting places to eat around town too. Wish we'd stayed for more than 2 nights.
