Altogether a very enjoyable evening, even if we did not ultimately leave with a lasting impression of just having had a three star Michelin menu. All good food of course given the level we are talking about here, but few truly memorable dishes. The pigeon was a standout, as was the chocolate fondant dessert.
Wine list also very good and decently prices.

This was definitely special. The food and atmosphere was spot on. Surprisingly, the drink prices were reasonable. I had a glass of Albariño which was a great match to the tasting menu.

We had an amazing experience having dinner here from beginning to end here. The food was delicious and creative, and their was so much fun in the presentation of each course that it gave a whole new meaning to the term "dinner theatre," - i.e. my husband's prawn starter was served on a glass plate set atop a video screen of ocean waves which had turned into flames by the end of the course. My main of pigeon was served with "feathers" made of potato starch that transformed the dish into a work of art.
Since one of us did not want the tasting menu, it was not possible for only one of us to get it, so our server suggested that we each order half courses, thereby doubling the number of courses we ordered. We each had two half-portion starters, two mains, etc. But there was so much food that I wondered what the whole portions were like. It was a wonderful compromise that resulted in being able to taste much of Arzak's menu that evening.
The service was absolutely impeccable, which is exactly what it should have been. As we were leaving, we were handed a custom-printed menu of everything we had ordered to take with us.
At the end of our meal, we had the great pleasure of meeting Elena Arzak, thereby adding to an already unforgettable evening.

A member of our group of 6 booked this restaurant months before our visit and only after much research and deliberation . We were largely disappointed by the staff who were inattentive and were not willing to explain the courses in any detail or even confirm our conclusions as to what was on our plate .We had looked forward to a gastronomic evening and found that the degustation menu featured squid ink in several courses , when my previous experience would be that the degustation food journey includes many flavours ,textures and foods .
Presentation was excellent and came in various Vessels and forms as you would expect . We felt the food creative if not limited and We enjoyed the gazpacho starter in particular

We travel the world for food, and have visited other 3 star michelin restaurants in Spain like Martin Bersategui and El celler de can roca. Compared to those two, quality and creativity of the food and the service are way below par. We sometimes had to wait 20min until someone came to our table. The dining area was very loud and we heard all converstation from the tables around. Also, my dish had a hair in it! The sommelier was very blunt and did not explain anything about the wine. Need i say more?

If you want a true three star experience, there are much better options than this one.
