Food was great, and service really good. It gets packed in the evening, so come early to get a place along the bar.

Another tapas place that make them fresh. The English menu has confusing pricing on them, the tapas are around 4 € ,but the menu says 7€. It can get really busy, so it may take time to order. The food is good, but it's getting up there in price, $40aud, for one to stand at a bar and eat.

Get there early if you want to sit for a "full" or "half" plate menu!..and worth waiting if you don't get a table straight away. The food is outstanding, we loved the dishes we ordered. The staff are friendly and helpful. We will go back to stand and sample the Pintxos before we leave!

This restaurant and pintxos bar is a little challenging to find (in an alley off of 31 de Agosto). We did find La Cuchara to be one of the best places for Pintxos in the old town (foie gras, veal cheeks, and risotto were all great, the pig's ear may not be for everyone), although it is also one of the more pricey places to go. We went on two different nights. The first night was in the rain and this kept the crowds down. We had a great time; the service was fantastic, and we were even able to have a conversation with our server. The second night (a Saturday) was much busier, making it hard to get near the bar, and the service suffered because of this. My recommendation is to try La Cuchara at a time when there will be fewer people there.

For more classic pintxos this place is a must. There is very little room inside but service is usually quick given the room available.

It can be quite hard to find if you haven't been there before. This visit there was a small mushroom lamp placed out into the alleyway, I presume as a beacon for people to notice it.
