We had a wonderful experience at Forn de Sant Joan. It came as a recommendation from our hotel and didn't disappoint. The food was wonderfully prepared and absolutely delicious. We started with the Grilled Octopus and the Ceviche. The Octopus was perfect and beautiful and the Ceviche came in a cone similar to the way Jose Andres prepares caviar at his restaurants. Spanish chefs really have it down. The coconut foam on top was a great touch. For our main courses we shared the meat Tagliata (not spectacular) and the Veal Ravioli which was unbelievable. We had a great table upstairs and really enjoyed walking around after.

Definitely recommend for couples!

A very disappointing experience. Having asked for a romantic table, we got a place near the kitchen. The waiters were very annoying, suggesting us to order the dish immediately after we started with an apero. In ten minutes, three different waiters asked us whether we've already ordered. The atmosphere was tense and hectic, with another two people from the stuff constantly passing by our table and looking at how much champaigne was left in our glasses as if they were trying to get rid of us to free the table. So we decided to ask for the receipt after the apero, and were pretty surprised, when additional starters were included to the bill. Needless to say we didn't order them. The waitress immediately became rude and unfriendly, and no one even said goodbye when we left.

Great dinner and service. Wife and I loved it so much, we went back for a second dinner during our vacation. Highly recommended!!!

The blend of tastes in each course was done very well. The food was straightforward and well thought out, a solid meal without trying too hard. Our waitress was lovely and gave a good suggestion for wine. The physical environment was OK, very, very busy when we were there, it felt a bit stressful and the turn over was rapid. At one point we had 4 waiters almost doing pirouettes around our table in their haste to carry out their tasks. The tables are close together and were on a floor which was all British and despite booking 3 months in advance were not given a good table. Although we had a good meal the overall experience missed something which is why I have not given it 5 stars.

We knew from a previous trip that you have to book at Forn to get the best tables...so we did for this visit to Palma. Forn is well positioned, which means a lot of disappointed passing trade....as the food served here is except! If you want a tapas style menu...then you can have one...if you prefer a classic three course a la carte then this menu too will not disappoint. Service can be a little 'starchy' but battle your way though that at the outset and the staff soon loosen up.

The Tuna Tataki is simply superb!
