We headed into Palma for dinner -after reading all the reviews on this place we decided we had to check it out. We got a table immediately even though we didn't book but that was probably more to do with the fact it was Boxing Day (Dec 26th) than anything else. All things considering it was still pretty busy! The tapas is pretty reasonably priced from about 5eur up to about 16eur. After seeing the ox tail at the table beside us we decided to order the 'cheaper' dishes figuring they would be smaller. We ordered some garlic mushrooms, some peppers, whitebait & squid. All of the dishes were good...nothing super amazing but all more than acceptable. The squid was the most expensive at about 15eur, in saying that it was a very large serve! It was a meal on it's own. The wine was well priced, to avoid trying to decide which wine to order we just took the bottle that was on the table €15, a Rioja & quite nice!
To be perfectly honest I think the locals left this place a long time ago we did not hear one table speaking Spanish while we were here it was either German or English.
My only complaint would be we were charged for the 'bread' which was bought to our table as we arrived, a little petty I know but if I had a choice I would have declined the bread! Perhaps they assumed because I ordered aioli I would like bread...?
Having my first tapas experience here I have nowhere else to compare it to. The food was good the service, although a little brusk, was also good & the atmosphere inside was definitely good-how could you not enjoy your meal with a giant bull overseeing operations?!
For the two of us, the four dishes we ordered, the dessert we shared, a bottle of water & a bottle of wine it was just shy of €65, which we didn't think was too bad.
