I booked the Can Cera based on Trip Advisor reviews for our 10th wedding anniversary trip & wasn't disappointed. A beautiful hotel in the old town. I noticed people coming in off the street to take photos of the reception area. I booked the Can Cera suite, the most expensive room available - hey, it was a special occasion. It was lovely - a nice-sized lounge area & four-poster bed, plus modern bathroom. A couple of niggles though - firstly there was a very weird noise (sounded like a distant boat siren) that kept going off intermittently all night, sufficient to wake us up. It seemed to be due to some sort of pump unit in the courtyard below the bedroom window. Also no kettle & tea/coffee-making facilities, although chilled water was available in the fridge. We ate in the restaurant on our 1st night & the food was 1st class. The chef was excellent & made every effort to accommodate my vegetarian husband. Delicious! The two gentleman on Reception were both great - one was Benjamin but didn't catch the other chap's name. V helpful I'd also recommend the private transfer from the airport. The driver (we had the same guy both ways) was also v helpful & pleasant.

Beautifully restored, with lots of character. This was a treat for my husband and I and the friendly and efficient staff made us feel really welcome. The food was lovely too, beautifully presented, and the breakfast was really good.

It's a relatively new hotel (it was a private residence until about a year ago) but it has been thoughtfully converted, and there are several beautiful common areas, including a little roof terrace. All 12 bedrooms are dotted throughout the house, so definitely a nicer feel than if all the rooms were on the same corridor.

The hotel is in the middle of the city, and yet has a great feeling of calm. It is definitely on my list of hotels to go back to. 10 out of 10.

For my first time in Majorca, I really couldn't have done much better! Set right behind the Cathedral in Palma in a restored mansion, we were welcomed into this gorgeous hotel. The traditional Majorcan decor made for a lovely ambiance. The room was immaculate and beautiful with a great bathroom with very helpful and attentive staff. The restaurant was great and we took full advantage of the 'spa'. This will be the only place I ever stay in Majorca and we will definitely return.

Very central location, right behind the cathedral and 2 mins walk to shops, restaurants, etc. Very traditional Mallorcan, new and extremely clean. Staff helpful and friendly

Be aware that the 'spa' is not what I would normally think of as a spa, no services are available - it is a private room with jacuzzi, sauna and turkish.

Loved the lounges, reception and dining area.

We will definitely return!

I would be surprised if this was not the best hotel in Palma. Great location, fantastic rooms and public spaces. Simply gorgeous. We had a wedding weekend away with 5 other sets of friends who all equally raved about this place. The customer service too was special all the staff were top notch. Thanks for making our 'honeymoon' so special.

Room Tip: All good, we stayed in room 4 which was huge and perfect.

We had the pleasure of staying here recently for a short break, the other excellent reviews are not without justification, it was a wonderful experience! The hotel is centrally located and ideal for shopping (the shopping is to die for!!) and all the attractions of this wonderful city. It is a recently converted mansion and has been exquisitely done with beautiful furnishings and wonderful taste, it's not cheap but in our opinion worth the money. The bathroom was enormous, with a wonderful separate shower but my only criticism would be that it would have benefited from a light over the bath tub. Benjamin on reception was most helpful and nothing was too much trouble, a delightful chap. We will definitely return.

After physically visiting 3 other hotels - we had to leave the horrible Saratoga, we chose Can Cera. The perfect blend of classic old town Palma and modern luxury - wonderful textures and slick details. This hotel and it's amazing common rooms were a pleasure. Hotel staff professional and attentive. We'll be back.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
At over 700 years old, Can Cera has one of the longest histories in Palma. The building dates back to before 1232 when Jaume I conquered the island with Catalan and Aragonese troops. Located inside the ancient city walls close to the Cathedral, Can Cera is in the very heart of the Old City, between the Plaza de Santa Eulalia and the Plaza de San Francisco. Over the years, Can Cera’s many owners have made alterations to the original building. The most important of these were done in the 17th Century, when –as in many of the surrounding houses– Italian Renaissance architects inspired the creation of the celebrated patios, giving the houses their singularly attractive, yet austere, character. Inside, the house is significant and rich with well-proportioned rooms, high ceilings of sculptured plasterwork, balconies and above all, palatial adornments. Today, Can Cera, has been thoroughly renovated and equipped as a first class Hotel. The traditional Majorcan patio, with its majestic arches, exuberant Kentia and other lush plants, leads to the Reception area and the Can Cera Restaurant. A marble stairway leads up to a surprising space: a comfortable and welcoming Home with its original layout intact. Period furniture and contemporary paintings abound. ... more   less
