We stayed at Can Cera for the last 2 days of our 6 day trip touring north and west Mallorca. This was a real step up in hotel quality from the other 2 small family hotels we had stayed in (in Pollenca & Sóller). The hotel is in a great location although not easy to find on iphone satnav as it is located in restricted access streets. Indoor parking is available next door to the hotel but needs to be pre-booked (not many spaces).
Our room was lovely athough the lighting was inadequate and it was in a noisy part of the hotel just off reception.
The staff were extremely helpful (one walked back to the car park in Plaća Major to retrieve my hire car and guide me back to the hotel car park.)
The breakfast was very nice although for a hotel of that quality I think the fresh fruit should be prepared and served on a platter rather that as whole fruit in a fruit bowl.

Love this hotel and the courtyard in a quiet historical but central part of Palma. Exemplary service, food amazing and the best Majorcan wines, steeped in history, highly recommend a very special place. Elegant and Sophisticated.

Can Cera is in a beautiful medieval building, restructured in the 17th century, in the old town of Palma, with a quiet, refined atmosphere, an atmospheric courtyard with winding steps up to the remarkable common rooms with vaulted painting ceilings and period furniture. There's nothing dusty about this place, however: everything that counts (like bathrooms and WiFi) is completely 21st century. The staff were helpful and understated. This is an absolutely excellent choice to be recommended.

We stayed at the Can Cera in September 2013. We were due to stay for 6 nights, but upon arrival, were told they had a group booking, and had to move us to the Boutique Hotel Calatrava for our first 2 nights. This was a bit of pain, but we were upgraded to a Suite at the Calatrava, and when we came back to the Can Cera, we were upgraded to a Junior Suite. They also arranged for our luggage to be transported both ways, without our worrying.

The Can Cera is a small boutique hotel with only 12 rooms - we were in room 11. It has some beautiful sitting rooms - perfect for reading and relaxing. The rooftop terrace was very small, but did have some deck chairs to sit and catch the sun. We only had breakfast once during our stay, as it was quite expensive, but what we had was very good quality.

I have to comment on the staff at the Can Cera - extremely helpful and very friendly.

The only area that lets this hotel down is unfortunately its housekeeping services. We had complementary water in our fridge in our room, which was never replaced. Also, toiletries were rarely replaced, and we didn't receive turndown each night. If these items had been as consistently good as in the Boutique Hotel Calatrava, I would have given this 5 stars. Also, wifi did not work very well in our room. Other than that, all very good.

This is a great hotel smack dab in the center of old town. The property is the converted home of an apparently very wealthy Mallorcan family. The hotel is centered on a large open court with "great" public rooms on the floor above and bed chambers above that. There is a roof top deck too if you can't get enough sun during your old town explorations. This place really captures the feel of the old town.

My fiance booked Can Cera as part of a surprise trip and all of the staff went out of their way to make our trip as special as possible (especially Carlos). The room was lovely with a comfortable bed, high ceilings, private balcony. The food in the restaurant was also very good. We used the private spa which has a jacuzzi, sauna and steam room. The hotel is well located for exploring Palma and the staff were very helpful with advising on places to visit and how to get there.

Official Description (provided by the hotel):
At over 700 years old, Can Cera has one of the longest histories in Palma. The building dates back to before 1232 when Jaume I conquered the island with Catalan and Aragonese troops. Located inside the ancient city walls close to the Cathedral, Can Cera is in the very heart of the Old City, between the Plaza de Santa Eulalia and the Plaza de San Francisco. Over the years, Can Cera’s many owners have made alterations to the original building. The most important of these were done in the 17th Century, when –as in many of the surrounding houses– Italian Renaissance architects inspired the creation of the celebrated patios, giving the houses their singularly attractive, yet austere, character. Inside, the house is significant and rich with well-proportioned rooms, high ceilings of sculptured plasterwork, balconies and above all, palatial adornments. Today, Can Cera, has been thoroughly renovated and equipped as a first class Hotel. The traditional Majorcan patio, with its majestic arches, exuberant Kentia and other lush plants, leads to the Reception area and the Can Cera Restaurant. A marble stairway leads up to a surprising space: a comfortable and welcoming Home with its original layout intact. Period furniture and contemporary paintings abound. ... more   less
