Nice 5 star hotel with good service and nice rooms. Only € 5 with a taxi and you are in the middlde of Palma. Lots of nice restaurantes andd bars. The hotel has everything you can ask for and top service. Pick a room so you can overlook the marina.

Room Tip: Pick a room overlooking the marina

Spent long weekend in Palma and the hotel was recommended by our friend who lives on the Island - he was so right! Splendid hotel in a fantastic position overlooking the bay. We booked the cheapest room, but were upgraded to a room on the side of the hotel, with a balcony looking over gardens towards the Cathedral. We were warmly welcomed and the service was exemplory by all staff we came across. Our room was a double (twin beds pushed together to make a huge bed - really comfortable and lovely soft cotton linen. Plenty of armchairs, desk space, a big tv with a good range of channels in English. The bathroom was huge and plush, with robes and slippers provided along with a plenty of toiletries, toothbrushes, etc. Couldn't have asked for more. Would recommend the breakfast buffet, it was vast and beautifully presented. If you join the Melia rewards programme, breakfast is half price - well worth doing. We didn't use the indoor pool, but it looked lovely. Overall, really impressed and would definately stay there again.

Room Tip: Think the seaview rooms may be a bit noisy at night as they overlook Tito's nightclub.

We chose the hotel for it's position overlooking the marina and its good reviews. The reception staff greeted us warmly, gave us maps and advised on local sights and facilities. Our room was exactly what we wanted with a stunning view towards the Cathedral. The bathroom, bedding, tv, minibar were all well presented. There was no road noise and we slept well. If we wanted a cup of tea, a snack or a taxi, the staff were swift and efficient. On our last day we were able to keep our room untl 4 pm allowing us to go out for lunch without carrying luggage. We felt very comfortable and rather pampered. A lovely hotel.

Room Tip: The sea views are worth the extra cost.

Both of these Hotels are owned my Melia and the standard of service in both is excellent.
They are both well located on the Paseo Maritimo a 100 yards apart and about 15 minutes from the airport. Both have Premium rooms with fantastic views over the Bay of Palma and the Cathedral.

Parking. The Victoria has its own free exterior and interior parking, whilst the Atenea has some spaces in an underground car park two doors away and charge 12 Euros day.

The rooms are about the same size at both of the Hotels.

Furnishings in the Victoria are more luxurious including slippers, dressing gown and an array of toiletries. The furnishings in the Atenea are a little more worn and there is little in the way of toiletries.

The beds are harder in the Atenea, but they are not uncomfortable.

They both have an extensive continental breakfast buffet with fresh fruit, etc. If are looking for an English breakfast with bacon and eggs, then it is the Atenea for you. The Victoria offers an omelette cooked to your taste.

The sound proofing between rooms is better in the Victoria.

Street noise. When the revellers come out of Tito’s at 3.30 on Saturday morning, nothing can keep out the noise, but it is less noisy at the Atenea.

Both Hotels are excellently located for walking along the paseo to see the yachts or to walk into the centre of Palma.

Both have good swimming pools.

The bar at the Atenea is probably cheaper than the Victoria. The Atenea’s barman pours a very large 103 brandy for 4.50 Euros.

Overall the Victoria has the edge, but it costs more.

Room Tip: Premium rooms have a wonderful view over the Bay of Palma

I booked this hotel based on other reviews on Tripadvisor. Opinions of friends who live in Mallorca varied. I stayed in mid January and the hotel was nearly empty, hence I got upgraded to a really great seaview rooom. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I didnt use the restaurant but had a few drinks at the lobby bar which had a pleasant atmosphere but was a little pricey (though no different to any other 5 star hotel in Mallorca) The hotel is located on the Paseo Maritimo in Palma - a fair walk from the centre - better take a 5 minute taxi. The front entrance is not on the Paseo Maritimo, but 1 block back - which has become not the most salubrious area over the years. I would definately recommend the hotel based on my stay.

Room Tip: My room on the seafront side had an excellent view over the Marina and back towards Palma cathedral
