Stayed here several time over several years. Never had to complain about anything. This hotel really des exude quality and luxury at every level without at all being pretentious. Its discreet, courteous and caters very well for the discerning guest.

The only worry s arriving by taxi, you wonder where you are being driven.. Some of the back streets around the hotel are a little rough, but don't worry, when you enter the hotel, you soon regather your composure!

This hotel really does look after you well, the breakfast is wonderful, especially if you can get an outside table. The views front front are awesome, but traffic noise s a constant din. This is only a minor negative, overall this hotel is very, very good and have no fear about booking, you will enjoy it.

Room Tip: Front cathedral view a must

Dear LWDOTCOM,

It is a true pleasure to receive such positive feedback especially from the Guests that have visited Gran Meliá Victoria already several times. We would like to assure you that we have passed on your positive comments to our team, since it is what makes our work and dedication worthwhile.

We are proud to inform you that our establishment is now 100 years old and that is what explains its privileged position on the Bay of Palma. However, regarding your comments about the back surroundings that in the past used to be equally privileged and well maintained, we admit that it is unfortunate that these are the ones that lost their status throughout the years. We are unable to contribute directly to the improvement of its image and structure but we assure you of providing you with an unforgettable experience each time while staying at the Gran Meliá Victoria.

Once again, we thank you for your comments and we are looking forwards to welcoming you back.

Kindest Regards,

This is a very well appointed hotel. It is situated a little way out of the main town but has a beautiful outlook over the marina towards the cathedral. You have to pay a little extra to guarantee this view but it is worth it. However, it is as well to be aware that the balconies are east-facing so if you want to catch the sun going down with an evening drink then that is not an option. Also, there are no awnings so when the sun does catch the balcony it can become very hot. The bedrooms are very comfortable and spacious. There was some noise from the street as Palma is a party town and the hotel is right next to a nightclub but we did not find it too distracting. The lobby and central hotel areas are to a high standard and the staff are friendly and helpful. We did not eat in the hotel so cannot comment on the food. The indoor swimming pool is very small and did not look especially inviting. The outdoor pool seemed to be very much better but it was too cold at Easter for us to swim. The hotel offer a town car service to and from the airport and this worked very well although it is quite a bit more expensive than a taxi [which seemed to be plentiful].

Room Tip: Probably the room to choose for the most enjoyable stay would be one of those with a balcony overloo...

Stayed for 4 days over Easter. Temp was 27 degrees when we arrived but no air con, quite ridiculous in 5 Star hotel. Our lovely room on front overlooking Marina and Cathedral was noisy as we had to keep the Balcony door open as room was too hot, ridiculous! The hotel is noisy because it is right next door Tito's nightclub probably the most popular in Palma. Cooked breakfast not up to scratch but lovely views from terrace. Drinks far too expensive. Staff very good apart from officious reception staff who really need to up their game . We are members of Melia Sol loyalty program but unlikely to stay here again as much better options available in Palma.

Room Tip: Front Rooms have lovely views but may have night club noise. Make sure a/c is working

Dear dansdad51,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience at the Gran Meliá Victoria.
We would like to offer our apologies for not meeting your expectations and assure you that we always work to satisfy all our guest’s wishes and to make them all feel welcome and well attended.

For your information the hotel offers both heating and air conditioning; however the general system allows us to adapt to the exterior temperature and offer either one of the two options. Specifically, during the Easter weekend the daily temperature in Palma was between 21´C during the day but it was dropping down to 12´C during the night. Normally in these circumstances we offer heating because most of our Guests demand it. We apologise for the inconvenience you have experience during your stay.

We do appreciate your comments as they help us to improve. We remain at your entire disposal.
Kind regards,

We spent 3 nights at the Gran Melia Victoria at the end of august 2012 and enjoyed every minutes of our stay.
We booked a "premium sea view" room and ended up on the 4th floor in a comfortable, stylish and relatively spacious room with an amazing view over Palma's marina and the cathedral in the background.
Besides a comfortable bed, the room had a large mirror over the bed, marmor in the bathroom, a panel to control lighting, curtains and air condition. All the expected amenities for a hotel of this class were there.
We ordered food from room service once, the food and wine we were served did not disappoint and the balcony proved to be an excellent location for diner!
The breakfast was good and varied with the possibility to sit inside or on the terrace. Excellent service, from everyone there.
Location was fine, must have been about 20-30 minutes walk to the old town, which made for a nice walk.
One of the best hotel I stayed at!

Room Tip: Sea/cathedral view is worth it

Firstly I must say that the staff were fantastic and the hotels fittings and furnishings luxurious. Our stay however was disappointing for the following reasons: The weather was beautiful for March and our standard inland view room which did not have a balcony was far too hot as the air conditioning was not working. We did open the windows but the noice from nightclubs, bars etc in the early hours together with the heat kept us awake for most of our 3 night stay. I think the sea view rooms with a balcony are the ones to book if you can afford them but the supplement was too high for us! Also the outdoor pool was closed because it was March and the indoor one was not really a relaxing spa area where you could "chill". The hotel also did not have much atmosphere, we only saw one other couple during our stay so never had a drink in the bar in the evenings. We were on a room only basis and never found out if/where we could have breakfast so went out into Palma to eat in the mornings. I have stayed in other good standard hotels in Palma and definately think that although this was the most luxurious I would stay in a hotel with more atmosphere and better value for money as I think it is very expensive and not good value for money.

Room Tip: Upgrade if you can afford too! Probably less noise on higher floors.

Dear Oriana180709,

Thank you for taking the time to tell us about your recent experience at the Gran Meliá Victoria. We took a good note of your comments in order to improve our offer. We also thank you for recognising the dedication of our Staff.

However, it is unfortunate that our indoor swimming pool didn’t meet your expectations. We constantly work on improving our facilities and provide excellent maintenance of our establishment. For your information, the outdoor swimming pool and the surrounding area are always opened during the Easter time, when the temperature gets higher.

We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you in the future and offer you an enjoyable stay.

We could not speak too highly about the hotel and the staff. We stayed for three nights for our Wedding Anniversary and were very touched to find a complimentary bottle of chilled 'bubbly' in our room on arrival. We arrived very late (10-15pm) but were served a lovely meal in the bar area by unbegrudging staff, even though the kitchen was about to close. We subsequently ate in the 'Vanitas' restaurant for our remaining two nights - the food was excellent. Our room (premium sea view) was luxurious with a balcony overlooking the harbour and the cathedral. However, our stay was marred by the incessant noise from midnight until 5am from the disco's (or nightclubs) in the area. Because it was so hot (March) we needed to open the window as the airconditioning is not available in the winter months, We requested a fan which was promptly supplied but this was of little help. The double glazing is very efficient and if the air con. had been available the problem would not have been so huge. Very sadly we would not stay here again at this time of year - such a pity!

Room Tip: Front rooms have wonderful views but have the drawback of nightclub noise.

We truly appreciate you took time to tell us about your recent experience at the Gran Meliá Victoria. It was our pleasure to accommodate you during your Wedding Anniversary and also to hear, that we have reached your expectations in terms of the quality of service, personalised attention and culinary performance.

Nevertheless, we would like to offer our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused by the noise coming from the outdoors. Although it is an external factor separate from our establishment, we would like to inform you that we are aware of this problem and in fact we are trying to negotiate possible solutions together with the City Council.

One again we thank you for your valuable comments that help us to improve.

Everything about this hotel is excellent. I can not stress how welcoming and friendly the staff are., the service was absolutely outstanding. The hotel really is stunning and has a lovely view over the harbour. My room was huge and the bed was so comfy! Best nights sleep I've ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed staying here and would love to go back.
