My husband and I went to Majorca on our honeymoon, many many years ago and have never been back. Mostly due to the fact my husband contracted salmonella poisoning and was off work for another 3 weeks after our honeymoon - which he never lived down. I am glad to say this visit was great. We stayed at the Mirador just on the Marina and about a mile from the Cathedral. Easy walking along the harbour area - just watch out for the bicycles. The hotel was good, but felt their statement that 'most rooms have a balcony' was rather misleading. We were put into a fairly small room at the back and the double glazing was not up to the task of masking the traffic. The swimming pool is tiny and the steam room is only available if you give an hours notice. However the Snack Bar & Reception staff was very helpful.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the harbour

We stayed in the Mirador for three nights for a long weekend to celebrate a birthday. There was a large group of us and the staff at the hotel were helpful and friendly even during the chaos of 14 people trying to pay their bills separately. We had a problem with the toilet not flushing but the once we mentioned it and someone arrived within minutes and sorted it. The rooms had everything you needed, we had to pay for the safe, but use of the fridge was free (we put our own drinks in the fridge as there was a cheap supermarket nearby). There is no outside pool, but we knew that before booking. The hotel is a little old, but the location and price was excellent, just what we needed for a short break.

We stayed here for 3 nights and the stay was ok. We had booked a junior suite that would face the harbour but it was ok no very big. The room is small and average we found as compared to the cost. But the view from the room is excellent. The Breakfast was ok but could be even better . The location is good just infront of the public bus stop that take you to near by beaches. Take the bus route 104 or 106 to nearest palma Nova beach that is excellent. The Hop and Hop Off bus stop is also very near by. They too have a spa but with beaches nearby you tend to spend time outside in Mallorca.

Room Tip: We had junior suite 701 I guess, view of this room is great.

Beautifully appointed room was massive! Lots of space, sitting area separated from beds with a curtain ...enormous wardrobe...lovely bathroom ...view over the harbour from side balcony. Although street rises steeply it doesn't matter as you can avoid the climb by leaving hotel from the 5th floor door! From there only a short walk to the fantastic Pueblo Espagnol. The sightseeing bus has a stop outside the hotel and there is also a taxi rank on the adjacent corner. Just one minutes walk to the amazing Cappuchino Bar which does excellent breakfast and on cool evenings has heaters on the terrace for enhancing their food and drink experience. Only 10 minutes walk from the cathedral so excellent location. The hotel restaurant does a good evening meal at a reasonable price too.

Room Tip: Our room was on the 4th floor great for accessing the 5th floor exit door and the spa and breakfast...

We had a large party and the opinions were very mixed. Overall, the hotel is showing its age and could do with a major refurbishment but it was OK for the price. Some of the rooms were disappointingly small but others, at the same price, were excellent value. The best rooms are at the front but they are also the noisiest. The service in the bar was slow and disinterested, certainly no better than average, and the some of the reception desk staff could do with finding a job that they like or at least remember who pays their wages. The best feature of this hotel is its location.

We stayed at this lovely old Hotel for a week in April, Not your run of the mill highrise hotel, it has charm, could do with sprucing up on the outside though, We stayed in room 301 which was noisy from the road but we knew that when we booked it, The most fantastic view made up for that, Breakfast on the terrace was lovely spotlessly clean & a really good selection of foods. We were however dissapointed that dinner was not served in the Restaurant, you could have it downstairs but there wasent much choice, & nowhere near as nice as upstairs. The most fantastic member of staff is Veren bright bubbly always smiling, Veren is from Argentina perhaps they should recruit all there staff from there!!!! save for the chambermaids who had a cheery ola each morning, The hotel is on the bus route from & to the airport No1 bus stops at the Auditorium, & the No3 bus which leaves on the road behind the hotel goes into the heart of Palma . We throughly enjoyed staying in this hotel& would stay again

I have stayed in several European hotels across Europe so my standards are not that high to begin with. With the amount that I paid, I was expecting more. The hotel itself was nice, clean, friendly and great location. I loved that the bus stop was right there. The breakfast was also on the higher end from other breakfasts I have had in Europe. As someone else said, our room was hot and air conditioner did not work. I did not follow up on it. Maybe it was not in season for it to be turned on yet? I was disappointed in the quality of the bed for the cost of the room. I felt every piece of metal on the bed. I was looking for something a little more plush. The pool/spa was also disappointing. The pool was big enough to splash around in but chilly, no big deal. The spa was cold! The temperature was no different than the pool. After a long day of sightseeing, I was looking forward to relaxing in the spa. Had the bed been nicer and spa hot, I would have given a 5. I would recommend this place based on location, the view and bus stop ease!
