For us, this is the place to be seen and to stay in Palma. Trendy and cool and also undeniably great staff and a superb location. Lovely clean, modern rooms and a very good cafe on ground level where they serve breakfast. There are too many great restaurants all around to mention and rest assured there is something to satisfy everyone. We have been here twice now and will go again at some point for sure.

You can tell this is special as soon as you walk through the door. Quiet, confidence in the staff and a delightful room.
We ventured out for an evening walk before dinner, Palma is so cosmopolitan, we had coffee at one of the many street cafe's before heading back. We had booked a table in the restaurant and both enjoyed a very tasty evening meal with a fine local wine recommended by our waiter.
As it is a city hotel we were thrilled that the noise pollution was non existent and we slept well.
Next visit (and there will be one) I will take time to visit the Spa.
My husband has won brownie points for taking me here. Wonderful.

Shopped around a bit online before booking The Jaime III, and went for it as my wife was planning on shopping and it appeared to have a great location in town. Happily it was as good as they say and just on the corner of the best shopping street in the city which delighted my wife, but not my wallet! The hotel is clean, smart and suited us very well. Staff do their bit to ensure a good stay and the beds and showers are good quality in the rooms. Tried the Sunday brunch buffet and it was a very good deal with cava included and many tasty dishes to try. We would book here again no problem and have heard Christmas time is pretty special in Palma so might plan that.

Great hotel if you are planning on spending most of your time in Palma itself. You are in the thick of it and have easy access to everything the city offers. There are lot´s of restaurants, coffee shops and bars, all the shops you could desire and of course the galleries and cathedral to visit within a few minutes walk. The hotel is not very big but for us was spot on. Clean, functional and comfortable. The staff are nice but not overly friendly, which is fine by us, and the room was nicely decorated and had a good shower. Taxi to the airport only took 10 minutes!

I stayed at this hotel in 2013 and I have to say I was quite disappointed. I found the decor very dark, and also found the staff very cold and unfriendly and not very helpful.

The only thing I actually liked about this hotel was the location. That was Perfect.

Otherwise I was disappointed.

Stayed here for three nights with my sister-in-law after checking reviews on TripAdvisor. Great hotel, contemporary and funky . Staff helpful and friendly. Really good twin room spacious and clean. We also used the free spa facilities which was relaxing after sightseeing in the day before going out in the evening. Highly recommend the breakfast alot of choice and was kept replenished. Easy access from the airport on the no. 1 bus for 3 euros each and just a 5mins walk to the hotel.

I booked this hotel based on the reviews here. Yes, it is a hotel which offers good value and includes breakfast in the rate. There were, however, a number of issues which do need to be considered when choosing this instead of one of the other modernised hotels in Palma, available at similar rates.

Either you will love or hate the dark colours used, particularly in the corridors, which make them very dim, even when the automatic lights come on as you enter a space.

The rooms are a good size, as you would expect in a 4 star hotel. Dark veneers and fabrics also make the rooms a little dark. Do go for the larger ones with balconies overlooking the narrow park opposite, which runs parallel to the road.

We found the room very cold and only warmed up in the afternoon when the sun shone through the window. The heating had been turned off "because it was Spring", regardless of the very cold nights. If turned on, the air con provided a steady stream of cold air and did not turn itself off, even with the thermostat turned to the highest setting. I suspect it was faulty. This condition should be OK during the Summer, but beware bookings made for Spring or Autumn.

In the bathroom, they provide a comb, razor, shower hat etc., but then spoil it by placing those horrible soap/shampoo dispensers on the wall. You expect them in a 2 star budget hotel, but not in a 4 star one. The one over the wash basin ran out during our stay and was not replenished. We also had to ask for a toilet roll, as a spare was not provided. Perhaps the maid was struggling, as the hotel was full. (Due to high ratings here?)

If you are on a higher, quieter floor (there are 9), away from the road noise, you will have a long wait for the single, small lift at peak times.

As others have said, breakfast time is spoilt by the lack of space and the number of people trying to help themselves from the small, cramped buffet area. There is one coffee machine, which also causes long queues. They do try to provide a variety of different food to suit all tastes, but this means there are only three hot items, chopped omelette, bacon and vegetables. There is a good supply of sliced bread, rolls and pastries, but only one brown loaf if you want to cut it yourself. By around 8 o’clock this had gone and was not replaced.
Yes, the breakfast is free, but with a full hotel the small space cannot cope and you may have to wait for a table at peak times. To be fair to the staff, they do an excellent job of finding and clearing tables as soon as one is available.

The hotel restaurant should be avoided for dinner. The kitchen is more interested in how the food looks on the (cold) plates, than the quality and flavour of the cooking. For an excellent meal, you only have to walk next door to Ottimo, an Italian restaurant. This smart, reasonably priced restaurant, with attentive waiters, provides some very tasty Italian food and perfectly cooked fish.

In conclusion, HM Jaime III is a good hotel, with friendly and helpful staff, in a very convenient position, but you do get the feeling an accountant is keeping a close eye on costs. I have rated it "Average" as there is not a "Good" rating, only "Very good".
