We hired a car and found the hotel without any trouble (thanks to sat nav) Set in a lovely area surrounded by pine trees and golf courses. Impressive entrance - electric gate, driveway led up to the hotel entrance. Doorman friendly and efficient, checked in without any problems - offered a cool drink of fresh orange then were given a quick tour of hotel to point out restaurants and pool area. Then shown to our room - beautiful, we were above the entrance so had real castle style windows! Views over the countryside, but no balcony. The room was excellent, entrance hall with walk in wardrobe off to the left (plenty of space, but no long hanging space in wardrobe for long dresses) bathroom off to the right, bath, twin basins, toilet and shower. Bathrobes and slippers, toiletries etc. scales - Maybe could have done without them! Housekeeping staff were excellent, everything clean, neat and the room smelled delicious.
The whole hotel was clean and welcoming. A special mention has to be given to the young men who spent hours cleaning the brass handrails!
The views over Palma from the terrace was amazing! We ate here one evening which we wish we had done more often, food was delicious (more of a snack style menu) well presented and staff very polite and efficient. There was a wedding on the Saturday which used the terrace, so hotel guests could not. Food in the main restaurant was very good with excellent service and the tapas bar (not my thing) was good. Buffet breakfast was excellent, plenty of choice, fruit, cereal, eggs how you like them, breads and pastries as well as cooked breakfast food. Again staff very efficient and polite.
Good location for pleasant views of surrounding countryside, but a taxi ride was required to visit Palma for an evening meal. One night we arrived in Palma to find there was a power cut! No food was being served so we ended up going straight back to the hotel.
There was a large swimming pool, another smaller pool with access for disabled and in the kids club a children's pool. On a lower level there was an indoor pool. There were many sun loungers and parasols around the pool, but I did feel they were a little bit too close to each other. This was a last minute booking and my husband was under the impression that it didn't look like the kind of hotel you would take children to - wrong! They certainly made their presence felt - talking, playing, splashing and complaining at loud levels of noise. There was a garden area, grassed lawn with loungers and parasols, these were better spaced and quieter.
I have to say it was not just the children who were making the noise because there were some adults who gave them a run for their money - whether they were trying to make a point or not I don't know, but it appeared to me that having money does not make you have manners.
Would I recommend this hotel? Yes, but obviously warn about noisy children.
Would I go back to this hotel? Yes, maybe out of season, or if it became adult only!
