“A pretty Church”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 August 2013

A small but attractive church and its free to get in.

There are attractive paintings and such and it represents a peaceful place amongst the melea of shops that surround it.

“Stunning”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 August 2013

This was well worth the trip. It's only small but perfectly formed and the side chapels are so beautiful, lots of guilding and eye pleasers. Just make sure it's open, we came on a Sunday and had to come back in the week.

“Best Value in Town”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 29 July 2013

We had some difficulty location the Basilica - or to be more precise - the entrance! It is a door to the right of the front of the main church entrance with a bell marked Cloisters and Basilica. Ring the bell and you will be admitted - price is just 1.50 Euros per person.

The cloisters are beautiful very peaceful (having read other reviews, we were lucky in that the school was in recess). We enjoyed walking around the cloisters, but the sound of music drew us in to the Basilica. Clearly some kind of rehearsal or sound check was in progress with someone playing the organ and being accompanied by someone on what I think was a French Horn. The music was incredible - the acoustics are fantastic. We sat for a while and enjoyed the music. Only when the musicians stopped, did we get up and look around the Basilica. The altar is amazing - very grand, think it is described as Baroque. The church is apparently very important in Mallorcan history and houses the remains of Ramon Llull. History apart - it is very well worth visiting - if you are interested in religion, art, architecture - or just enjoying a beautiful place. You may be lucky like us and enjoy a musical interlude too!

“Peaceful sanctuary”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 March 2013

We were lucky enough to enjoy this without much noise although once the school turned out it will naturally be busier. Grass was being cut to start with so lovely smell of freshly mown grass and then peace.
