if you want to find an high level hotel, with good pool, great food and excellent service, this is your place. the breakfast was great and the wifi free. the price is in line with this expectation. to go to teh city center of palma you need to take the taxi.

If you are looking for poolside relaxation, then this is the hotel for you. We enjoyed a hot and peaceful weekend in June taking advantage of the free British newspapers, choice of two pools and absolutely no competition for sunbeds. Lovely views from poolside over Palma that was far enough away to maximise the tranquil and lazy sunbed experience but close enough to reach either by a 40-minute harbourside walk (stopping for a drink en route) or a 10-minute taxi ride to the town centre. Also close enough to walk to the hustly and bustly beach resort of Cala Major (if you don't mind crossing a dual carriageway on foot). Our room wasn't brilliant on views since it was on a lower floor and it took a long time to change rooms the morning after a late arrival on account of an unpleasant bathroom smell in the original room, so that was unwelcome hassle on a short break. Also breakfast was outrageously priced at around 25 euros per person - while the breakfast buffet was impressive, I would have expected it to be included in the room rate in a hotel of this standard. That comment aside, a great hotel to relax in.

Room Tip: Go as high as possible for the views.

We were not planning to stay here and booked the morning we arrived. Wonderfully welcoming and we received an upgrade as we advised we were celebrating our honeymoon. The food, the rooms the hospitality at this hotel were wonderful. The pools were peaceful and well maintained. The spa was amazing and we were always the only ones in there whenever we visited. Breakfast was amazing. We were thrilled to have found this gem - I would not hesitate to recommend and would love to return if we re-visit Palma. The only small downside was the huge huge hill but you did get amazing views from the hotel - but this may not suit some people.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the front of the hotel for stunning sea views, the cathedral and marina

Wanted a hotel with a bit of class on the outskirts of Palma and the Valparaiso didn't disappoint. Lovely room, great staff especially Concierge Juan and Receptionist Anna who were very patient and helpful. Food in the 'Paraiso Restuarant' was as excellent , better than 5 star cruise ships, with their Mar Blau Bistro, pretty good as well. Three outdoor pools and one large indoor pool were very good and clean. If there is one criticism it was the lack of parasols around certain areas of the pools, which was surprising. However the incessant noise from two large fountains, no matter how beautiful they looked was irksome!
Hotel was handy for taxis with a rank close by, similarly the 46 bus service every '20' minutes into central Palma for 1.50 euros per person was great value, but it does go round the houses on the way back, being a circular route via Genova, which is north of the ring road motorway. You can walk down hill to the nearby Porto Pi Shopping Centre, BUT there are 116 steps to negotiate. But you have to 'wear off' those great meals at the hotel.

Room Tip: We had a side room with a lovely view over the sea to the West.

We have stayed at the Valparaiso Palace five times in the last 9 years and have enjoyed each visit. We visit to get rest and relaxation and definitely get that. It is a lovely hotel with two beautiful outdoor pools with ample sun beds for all. There is also a large indoor pool. Whilst being close to the centre of Palma it is high enough above the port to avoid distractions but provide beautiful views. The staff are unfailingly polite, friendly and charming and many have been there for many years. The Spa area is beautiful - a haven of peace and tranquility and equal to any I have visited in England. We have stayed in a variety of rooms 409 on this occasion and obviously the higher the floor the better the view. The bedrooms are spacious and comfortable. The hotel was refurbished to a high standard in 2012. The breakfast offered is perhaps the finest choice we have had at any hotel anywhere.

Room Tip: Floors three to six offer best views, also it is best not to be situated near the lifts.

A really nice hotel. Surprised at just how nice it was. There were things with hotel that you could be critical of, i.e. the main restaurant, the menu was too fussy and lacked atmosphere.
Water, for a spa based hotel and being five star this should have been provided. Most hotels these days provide water free of charge. It needs a shuttle service into Porto Pi / Palma - taxis are easily come by and take literally minutes but this should be provided by the hotel.
In the seven days we were there we had one complimentary iced tiny drink bought to us by a very charming Chinese girl. Pool towels, you had to go hunting for, most of which were in a shed, and the pool bar service was very hit and miss.
The service at the garden restaurant during the day was brilliant but a very limited menu.
Overall we had a brilliant stay at this hotel, it definitely lacks something but also offers something special .Five star l would say overall struggling purely on the lack of facilities.
It needs an everyday shop to buy the most basic of items.
Rooms are clean bright and spacious.
Staff are friendly and helpful.

We would return.

Room Tip: Definitely a cathedral view spectacular.

I stayed here for a week intending to have peace and relaxation which I had. Great location near the cruise terminal in Palma but high enough to be apart from any noise. Close to the centre, decent walk or short taxi ride.

My room was on floor 6, a deluxe room with the best view over Palma and all the facilities you would need and the best air conditioning I have come across. I used the spa twice, the sports massage from Rosa which was amazing and an excellent deluxe pedicure from Elaine. There are two pools and beautiful gardens. The pool service for drinks is poor, very slow and often drinks were forgotten.

There was one main restaurant for breakfast/dinner and then the terrace/informal dining area. The bar area Breakfast was expensive but immense and the range of choice excellent. Food was very good.

Service in the main was good but orders/requests forgotten at times, key areas which can make/break the customer experience. In the hotel there wasn't a shop to sell postcards/water/forgotten or an area with information items which I found unusual. This wasn't a service they offered.
