If you're in Palma its hard to miss the Cathedral, and if you've never been inside its a must to see with your own eyes.

Whether you are religious or not and regardless of your beliefs, the Cathedral is the showpiece of Palma and is a must see from an architectural point of view alone. The detail of workmanship both inside and out, created by the craftsmen of the day and the sheer beauty of the stained glass windows has to be seen to be believed. There are also many icons to be seen in the Museum including the two biggest candelabra, I have ever seen. Once again the details are amazing.

Entrance is through the Museum and the current charge for adults is 6 Euros. Money well spent. You can take photos but only without flash. Having said that, even on a dull day, there is plenty of light available inside the building. I have got some super photos but as good as they are, they do not do the building justice, particularly the stained glass windows.

If you arrive at the main bus/train station, it is a steady walk down hill to the Cathedral. It is reasonably well signposted although sometimes the signs can be hit and miss. A good map will get you there and there are always plenty of local Police about to point you in the right direction. You cannot see the Cathedral until you are literally outside it. It is only completely visible from the sea front. There are many unusual buildings along the way but remember to keep looking upwards as much of the stuff worth seeing is higher up. Food and drink are available next door and at many nearby places. The further you are away the cheaper the prices. There is also a gift shop. Enjoy!

While in Palma, you have to visit the cathedral. Having been decorated by different artists, including Gaudi, it certainly is more than your standard gothic church. Walk around, take in the atmosphere, try to understand the meaning of the art and you will have gained invaluable spiritual knowledge.
