Did not go in but the outside is really nice to see and lots of things to buy around the grounds. Not sure of the entry fee and it is the most visible thing in the whole city

In Palma for a few hours before departing on the Thomson Dream cruise ship for a one week cruise around the Eastern Mediterranean. We remembered the relaxing hour or so that we had spent in the shadow of the cathedral during our previous visit so we decided to start our time in the town at this point. After checking in on the ship we took a taxi to town from a couple of hundred metres outside the harbour area. Note that there is a supplementary charge for taxis if the journey starts immediately adjacent to the harbour.

It was a wonderful sunny afternoon and there were lots of people walking about outside the cathedral trying to take in the atmosphere while dodging the plague of very irritating hawkers trying to sell hats, sunglasses and other no doubt poorly made items. However there was someone in the area playing a Spanish guitar which made the experience most enjoyable.

Wonderful building that, like the Tardis, seems bigger inside than out.
(Check opening times (shut on Saturday afternoons for instance) before you go or, if you don't really mind, find it shut and wander, instead, around the old town and drink coffee sitting about in the sun or shade.)
The stained glass is sometimes overpowering; I personally didn't really go for the enormous (12m diameter) rose window - the colours were too in your face for me. But. when the sun shone through it, there was an amazing light-show cast onto the floor in front of the alter and several children (doubtless bored by their parent's endless standing around and just looking) were having a great time jumping from one pool of light to another.
The Guadi chapel was beyond odd but wonderful just the same.
Have a look at the enormous West door and try to imagine the skills required to not only create it but hang it.
Look at and be a bit overwhelmed by the many side chapels and then wonder why the Church always lavishes so much time, attention and money on itself.
Avoid the gift shop - most of the books are available cheaper in the town's bookshops and the rest of the content is not worth having.
This building, sitting proudly on its hill over the harbour, is still a landmark for sailors despite all their radar and charts so it's still doing a great job of saying " I am Palma de Mallorca - come to me."

We visited here first week of may as a day out from Palma Nova.
Beautiful building and a pleasure to walk around.
We didn't pay to go inside as we felt the 6 euro fee was a bit expensive.
The area around the front of the Cathedral was very busy with lots of street acts around so you can take some memorable photos. We even bumped into Shrek and Donkey.
A good day out and very scenic.

A stunning position in this lovely town. There are two main altars, one by Gaudi which one can only describe as "weird" typical over the top Gaudi, but a must see. Numerous chapels on both sides each of which must have taken someone's lifetime to complete. Lots of tour parties, but we just wandered around and took photos (no flash allowed). You can hire a head set with audio commentary. Some renovation taking place so temporary toilets. 6 Euros to get in. A must see if in Palma.
