The exterior is very impressive and it is beautiful inside especially all the stained glass windows. I wasn't so impressed with the works of Gaudi; all the old side altars were much more to my taste.

“Cathedral of lights!”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

Peaceful and tranquil place to worship and reflect. It has definitely a medieval ambience, but with a few very modern touches, made by Gaudi and some other, even more contemporary artists. Rose is realy big and impressive, throwing in the breathtaking play of light inside. Masses are served in a smaller (more modern) part, which I found a bit sad (seems like there is not that many going to masses there). Still very inspiring.

“A must see”
Reviewed 18 August 2014

This is a spectacular high point of Palma. A must see. The outside view brings you to the cathedral because of its ornate architecture. Once you arrive make sure you take a guided tour inside. The guides are very good and take time to answer questions. It is a very busy place so arrive early.

“Beautiful cathedral”
Reviewed 17 August 2014

Quite how we managed not to visit the cathedral on our last visit 16 years ago remains a mystery. A beautiful building and very welcoming towards visitors. There wasn't an obvious admission charge as there is with some religious buildings, though a voluntary donation was invited.

Visited this cathedral on a guided trip. The external views of and from the cathedral are amazing. It's in a fabulous setting in the old part of Palma with other attractions nearby. Inside, as you would expect, there are a lot of ornate decorations and windows to photograph. Our guide was very good and knowledgable but lost the interest of some younger visitors quite quickly! The place is huge. Some of the inside decor is surprisingly different (and not necessarily in keeping with the setting!) but the history of who, how, why and when was fully explained. If you like architecture, history and churches you will love this building, inside and out.
