El Fogue is an amazing restaurant! I'm so happy to find it at Tripadvisor! It is a bit from themain street but that does not matter when you know what the quality of the food offered at this restaurant. The owner Evelyn is a very beautiful, friendly and charismatic woman who really knows how to deliver a very good meal and service. It does not matter if you choose different small tapas to accompany your meal or waiting for an hour on your paellla. This is something special .... the paella is magical! Take one or two small tapas while you wait for your paella. The paella is wonderful .... This is not for those who think they can cook a Spanish food from scratch in 15 minutes. If a paella should be handled carefully and with love & from scratch, it may well take about 45 minutes-1 hour to make it. But I promise it is well worth the wait ... While we were waiting for the paella, we took deep fried squid in black mayonnaise. Wonderfully delicious!

We stumbled upon this place completely by accident, but so happy we did. The owner is an ex-flight attendant who has literally travelled the world for 26 years, eating incredible food. She said that the best places are always just outside the main tourist area, and el foque is no different. Set back off the sea front, a bit of a walk outside the main part of Can Pastilla, it can be a bit tricky to find. The decor is simple, but the place has a buzz and I prefer unpretentious places to stuffy locales.

We had a number of tapas, all of which were perfectly fresh and beautifully presented. We even had a free delicious pinxos with our drink. El foque puts a spin on some traditional dishes that set them apart from everything else we have had on the island. I just wish I was hungry enough to try much more! Oh, and the price - some of the best value for money on the island! So reasonable compared to very average tapas bars throughout Palma, especially considering the quality of the food.

For those staying in central Palma, note it's a bit of a jaunt outside town (about 10 min, 13 euro taxi). The sea front bike path goes all the way there - it's a perfect destination for a seaside cycle for late lunch or early tapas. That said, it's well worth the trip no matter how you get there!

It's close to our hotel but we wouldn't have found it if we hadn't
seen the photos on tripadvisor. Kind of hidden and inconspicuous
-looking, but a real treat. We had four of the "starters" between us with a jug of sangria and couldn't be happier!

We took a cab from our Palma hotel (around €15 trip) based on the excellent reviews on Trip Advisor. Your cabbie will struggle to find this place so make sure you have the address to hand. El Foque is in a beach resort out past the airport and is far more casual that other top ranking restaurants (think plastic chairs and AstroTurf flooring). The staff were charming and the food excellent but I am a little surprised it receives quite such an exalted ranking on Trip Advisor.

most affordable meal all week and everyone enjoyed their meals. The were great & homemade sangria was a hit. Evelyn was the best- friendliest service on the island. Worth the short drive from the city center.
