Rather difficult to find with just a tourist (free)map but the scenery was great en route. We underestimated how hot and tiring the walk would be but managed to get right down into the crater, enjoying the vegetation and lizards and of course the views.
Tips: wear closed shoes for the cinder paths which are easy to skid on. Poles would have been helpful as others (more hiker-types) had realised! Take water and hats. The golf club is very pleasant for a snack lunch afterwards and has stunning views.
