Owner description: Magnificent home and gardens open to public (museum, bar and restaurant). Built for Omar Sharif by Jesus Soto and influenced by Cesar Manrique (responsible for almost every architectural tourist attraction on Lanzarote). One of Lanzarote's top 10 I reckon.

This is a tour round the house that Omar Sharif lost in a bridge game. It is set on so many levels which have been carved out of the rockface you must be able to climbed several flights of stairs to enjoy the splendour of the property. Although we have been to Lanzarote several times before this was our first visit, would recommend a visit.

Set into the rocks with fab views and nooks and crannies hidden round almost every corner, this interesting architectural gem is well worth a visit. Truly a 'one off' in terms of design and historical reference, give yourselves plenty of time to explore and enjoy a coffee by the tranquil pool

A very nice place, an impressive visit.
Very nice architecture, one of the most beautiful artworks of Manrique.

Our 10 yr old daughter picked up a leaflet about this and insisted on going! It was a real surprise and we both loved it. If we return to Lanzarote we would go back to use the bar or restaurant. As it was we spent a very enjoyable 45 mins exploring all round, including the house. It was a very calming end to a day spent touring the island - sheltered from the wind, water, flowers, birds and quirky architectural features. I agree with the reviewers who comment on maintenance, but this did not spoil our experience. Not naturally an attraction of children, but the steps and pools and hidden corners made for interesting exploration.

This attraction is entertaining, not only for the fact that it was originally built for Omar Sharif, but also for the way that it has been built... Well worth a visit...even if it is only for a nice cold beer sat by the pool .. :-)
