“Good but could be so much better”
Reviewed 28 July 2014 via mobile

Stayed here with a friend for 5 nights in July. We were checked in quickly and given a room on the 8th floor. Hoping we would get a sea view, but alas we got one that over looked the city. I asked how much to upgrade and was advised €23 per night, so didn't bother as we didn't intend to spend the entire holiday in our room.

The room itself was spacious and the bed really comfortable. The tv didn't have any English channels, not that I watch tv on holls, but one news channel would have been nice.
The bathroom had a large patch of damp where the paint was peeling, but nothing that detracted from my holiday. Double sink, marble tops etc, all made it look very nice. Also quite spacious.

There is a fridge in the room, but no free tea or coffee making facilities. How can this be a 5* hotel without this provision? HOWEVER - you can hire a Nespresso machine for €12 PER DAY! A bit cheeky in my opinion.

The pool bar area is lovely, there are not enough sun loungers for the amount of guests at the hotel. There are about 15-20 on the terrace and a few more sofas or double beds inside the "greenhouse" as we named it. The "greenhouse" is surprisingly pleasant. We would sit in there on one of the comfy sofas after breakfast for a few hours just reading magazines. It is lovely and warm but not too hot all things considered.

The sun only comes around to the side of the sun beds about 1pm, so sitting there prior to this is fairly pointless, unless you want to be blown away by the wind.
When the sun does arrive, the breeze is a welcome one. That is, of course, if you have managed to get a sun lounger.

Breakfast is fabulous. Different from what you would expect from an all inclusive hotel. No "English" bacon or sausage, plenty of eggs, scrambled, fried, omelettes, boiled eggs, crepes, etc etc
Fresh fruit, cereals, yoghurt, cheeses, pastries etc etc all excellent.

On our last day we decided to try the Spa Circuit for €15. It was ok, but not really worth it. All you get is use of the jacuzzi, sauna, steam room, and some other pool type things, nothing particularly exciting. The locker room stank of smelly feet!

It is a 10 min taxi ride from the airport, which costs around €12

My friend and I would get the bus from the bus station (10 min leisurely walk from hotel), to Teguise for the evening. There is more to do in Teguise, and is worth the €3 bus fair.

If Arricife itself was more built up, then it would be a place I would stay for longer, it has potential! There are also plenty of good restaurants and cafés in Arricife if you don't fancy venturing further afield.

Would return for a short break, but a week would be long enough for anyone.

Stayed with 2 girlfriends for a 40th birthday. When we arrived there were balloons in the room which was a lovely surprise! Then bubbly and cake arrived!
3rd bed was a camp bed and the mattress was a bit firm, but overall the room was comfortable. air con wasn't that good, better if you left it on when you went out.
Staff were just excellent everywhere. Always ready to help and sort problems.
Not many sun beds, but people didn't generally stay all day. Beach is right next door. Swimming pool is odd as it's inside undercover.

I booked this package with Expedia and paid extra for sea view. Upon arrival we were told that room is not ready but we have a suite which is nice. We were there only for 5 nights and tired so took that offer. Room 1107 which was a lovely suite with extra room for sitting room and the view from our bed was still amazing. We could see the park and sea. Just did not have full sea view that did not bother us. Room was very clean and as good as 5***** until we noticed that a/c was not working. Customer service is very slow. That evening we got an engineer who said this is not repairable. We asked to move but were told not tonight we are fully booked. Tomorrow if possible they will try!! We suffered the heat that night with noise from main road being a Saturday night till early hours of morning. Next day when we again asked to be moved we were told they will send an experience engineer! Why could that not do that on previous day? It was bit better than previous day and the manager who was looking after us said there is no guarantee that it will be any better if we were moved. Now we had no confidence and decided to say put then waste time. We kept our windows open which gave wonderful breeze as the weather was cooler but not cold. The noise too had got better as Saturday is the busy time or we got use to the noise. However the room was very comfortable and perfect.
Breakfast was also very good and plenty to choose from. But the buffet dinner in the evening had not one vegetarian dish and they did not offer to make anything for us either, so we opted out of the idea of HB. The pool area is not big enough and it wasn't even busy period. The beach is only few steps away and beautiful however there were not deck chairs or umbrella. You have to go further toward Puerta de Carmen. Which also has variety and choices of restaurant. Very lively street to spend your evening. Its only 20 minutes on bus ride which you can pick up at the end of the promenade from this hotel. Services are frequent except check timing for the weekend. We hired bikes for 2 days and that was wonderful on the sea cost which has wide roads just for pedestrians and cycle route. Its easy ride even for beginners. We cycled from Arrecife to Puerto de carmen and back. Please try this if you can cycle but don't have confidence on main road. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Must hire bike and cycle the route from This hotel to Puerto de Carmen. Amazing ride!

My wife and I have just returned from a 10 day stay here booked thru Secret Escapes. All in all a very highly enjoyable all round experience. Car hire ( Auto Reisen ) and parking below hotel a great deal and easily organised. Suites with the most glorious views and very pleasant staff who will go out of their way to enquire each day if everything is satisfactory or if there is anything they can do to help. A special meal in the amazing Alta Mar restaurant was unfortunately not too the standard expected with a poor quality starter of lobster salad and an undercooked and cold grilled turbot main. At a 50% discount this was still poor value however it must be said that it was by comparison to what is referred to as a buffet half board deal. This is anything but a "buffet" as it was the most fantastic offer of fresh and cooked meats, salads, vegetables, fruits and pastries. The show cooking of omelettes for breakfast and meats and fish in the evening was wonderful. The staff very friendly under the watchful eye of the General Manager who appears and helps at the buffet to ensure smooth running and the incomparable Sr. Juan Carlos - a wonderful host and Maitre D. Nice pool and pool bar area and a great spa. Very hard to fault and excellent value for money.

Room Tip: Suites overlooking the bay !

Wonderful seaview, nice staff and beautiful suite. The hotel is in a skycraper and I suggest you to book a room with sea view in the highest floor available. It is easy to find this Hotel in Arrecife, it is the only skycraper in the area! There is also a wonderful restaurant with a romantic view (and with nice staff), a comfortable Spa and a relaxing pool.

Nothing spectacular. But very good. Expected a bit more, as this is actually the best hotel in the city. The view is nice. The room was good, clean and very big, the windows are large and we had a cityview wich anyway was very beautiful(we've been there for 4 days).Spa is good. Well, nothing bad, but everything looks a bit old-style even if you can see it was built not very long ago. The price is very ok, so I think it's fair deal.
